Hello my saviours!
So, I've always heard so much about white/nude liners for the bottom waterline but when I do that I just can't get myself to like to. I'm Indian and everybody wears kajal (kohl) on their lower waterline. My eyes are small and every time I try to make use of the 'trick' to make them look larger I just end up hating it and going back to black lining. Basically, it just makes my face look very pale. Any tricks or ideas to make it look better? Thanks!

I think it's just because you're so used to seeing other Desi women with kajal so it's more engrained.
I have blonde hair but I have a fairly Desi skintone even though I'm more southeast Asian.
Personally, black liner on my waterline tends to look too harsh.
A good way to make your eyes look bigger is to line your lash line rather than your waterline with black kajal.
You can skip the white or nude ones especially if you have a big iris vs the whites of the eyes because if you have large irises and a small amount of the whites of your eyes show then the white/nude looks really obvious.
But kajal on the lash line paired with a nude liner on the waterline can help you look more well rested if you're someone that has a naturally more pink waterline which can make you look tired

I agree with Aurora. Also, if you feel bare without anything on the waterline (I have small eyes too. I line the waterline with either a sheer copper or bronze liner. The combination of the lighter tones & slight shimmer will keep it light- looking, but will still look finished. Plus, copper & bronze (light bronze) will add spark to brown eyes. Also don't forget mascara on the lower lashes to visually extend the lashline, that will help enlarge the eyes. If you apply a tiny bit more to the middle of the lower lashes, it will also visually round out the eyes.

I personally really like the MAC Chromagraphic pencil in NW25/NC30 or NC42/NW35.
I'd pick one that's close to your skintone.
I'm personally around NC30-35 in MAC so I like the NW25/NC30 color and how it's subtle, not so harsh

Maybe try the NYX wonder pencil. they come in a variety of shades and make fantastic natural looking waterline pencils that still give the lovely brightening effect!
