Hi ladies!!

So I finally took the plunge and bought the longest extensions available for my hair type.

They are natural clip in extensions.

[A moment of silence for my wallet... ]

My hair has so much shrinkage!
When my hair was up to my waist in length, my curly hair would end up right above my shoulders.. people always thought I cut off all my hair when I wore it natural. It was insane!

So, since I am a shiny newb to the hair extension game.. I have some questions.

1. Can I wear my extensions to bed or do I have to remove them and re-install the next day?
And if I can wear them to bed...
Will that damage my hair and scalp?
Is there anything I have to do prior to wearing them to bed? (Like use a satin cap, put my hair up, apply a product, etc. )

2. Do they cause damage to the hair and scalp?

3. Can I wear them up or am I restricted to only down styles?

4. How often do you wash them?

5. Any recommended tools and products?

I look forward to reading your responses. I am super excited for my extensions! Thank you all!

Thank you tons! I probably won't sleep with them... but then again I get up at 04:30 so I don't want to fuss around so early. And it's nice to know I can do updo's since I'll have to for work. I'm also looking forward to doing fun braids! Can't wait to do some thick braids lol.

I got mine from Bella Kurls. I have to wait for them to be made since it's custom, but at least they're based here in Miami and it's a local business (yay for local businesses.) I pretty much spent a year browsing for some but it's been pretty blah since all the other sites have been pretty sketchy (Like all using the same manufacturer... or when I email CS there's no proper grammar... and some YT reviews were straight up sponsored so the actual reviews were crappy! ) The total came out to $330.00 which is pricey... but since I wanted the LONGEST ones I have to suck it up and they include 226g of hair. I've seen some people mention AliExpress and they start at around $160-180 (not the longest ones either and you have to make the clips.) and I feel like if I'm going to be wasting more than $100.00 I don't need to be making stuff and buying from AliExpress lol. I'll probably post a review when I do get them! I'm totally excited for them.

The company is still new so finding anything online has been difficult! I have found a tutorial from a blogger who was show casing her protective hair styles using those extensions, but she is a brand ambassador! (Although she had a previous video with them so I think they made her ambassador after that video.) I've been snooping on their facebook page to look at peoples profiles who have asked them questions to see how they look and it looks awesome. I'll be definitely posting a review!

Hey Kitty, I used to wear straight extentions for years and I did wear curly extentions too for about a year. my curls are 2b.
1. you can keep them in if you are in a time crunch. I like to put them in the morning because they are tighter and I usually slightly tease with no product, and they stay on super well. but you can leave them in and make sure they are ok in the morning. I didnt use one, but a satin cap may be helpful.
2. not for me... especially the curly ones, because there is no straightening involved so... no
3. you can wear them up. I used to wear ponytails often. however the way you clip them in will be different. you will try and see which ways will show less and be more comfortable. they do tend to be heavy sometimes so keep that in mind when its a long day. I used to do half buns too, so I would make the bun with my real hair and add the rest at the bottom. like... if you are going to style your hair a particular way, itll be like that all day.
4. once a week or every 2 weeks... depends if you use products on them.
5. your extensions need leave in conditionner... not the oily kind but they need to be moisterized too. and tool... nothing in particular.

for any other questions, I'm here!!

Thank you very much ladies! I decided I may not even wear them for work since my hair has to be up and pulled back into a bun. It will be a days off or once in awhile thing (and hopefully that will have them last a lot longer). and final question.. how do you store these when they aren't in use? Should I braid them as well when I store them?

I would just lay them down or hang them up somehow (I really don't remember what I used to do, possibly a hanger). I wouldnt braid them just because I wouldnt want to ruin the curls.

With clip in extensions absolutely DO NOT wear them to bed!! They will pull and cause tension on the root of your hair causing unnecessary breakage. Storing them is simple, you can actually use a pants/skirt hanger. Wash them every 2 weeks or every time you use product. And as for products, use products made for extensions if possible, or if not make sure to keep anything emollient or with oil away from the clips. Don't use anything silicone-y on the roots of your hair either or the clips can slide out and/or cause damage. The clips themselves generally don't cause damage but it's improper care and use that will. Always air dry your extensions, and have them blended to your natural hair by a stylist. I would avoid wearing them in excess - clip ins aren't really meant for every day wear, especially if you clip them into the same spot every day. Curly hair especially has a tendency to be on the drier side - making it more prone to breakage. If you were looking for a more permanent option, look into either microbe ads or tape!

I hope I helped, if you have any questions don't be afraid to PM me :) I've been a licensed extension specialist for 5 years now.
