Really Tired Of My Redness.

I am really in need of help. I've always had red flushed skin, but I don't like having to wear makeup to school all the time (note: I'm in 10th grade), but my face gets so red I have to wear face makeup if I don't want to be embarrassed by the constant "hey are you okay you're really red" "are you embarrassed?". I set an appointment with a Derm but it's not until December. Sony doctor prescribed me the topical mirvaso gel, and I tried it yesterday and I'm trying it today. But just as I expected from reading the reviews, it was a miracle for the first few hours but then sometime in the middle of the day I get a major flare up during the day and then it goes away maybe an hour later. But I don't want to have to worry about that at school, but I'm also pretty sad that I'll have to wear makeup on Tuesday still since I haven't found anything that will help. So if anyone has any miracle gel or some sort of primer or ANYTHING that will help me then please let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

You can get a cc cream that has a green tint to it which will help your face to look less red and it isn't a lot of makeup so it shouldn't be cakey of anything like that

Yeah, that's what I usually do on my makeup days:) but I'm really wanting to be able to go natural, with only having to use a gel or cream that treats the redness or calms it.

Have you tried color correcting primer? NYX makes a good dupe for the urban decay one. That would be a one step, lighter option instead of makeup.

Yes I currently have the maybelline one, but I will buy the nyx , urban decay, or smashbox one if I can't find a topical medication alternative. Thanks heather:)

A primer that has a very serious faint green tint (Loreal has an amazing one) works great. Sometimes I do that when I do a makeupless day.

My daughter has this issue too. Where she looks like she flushed or blushing most of the time. I think it makes her look young and healthy but she hates it. Anyways the one thing that helped her was Eucerin:)

I just looked at your pics and it seems like the same thing she has. We've never been to a dermatologist about it bc it wasn't causing self esteem issues or actually hurting her so I'm not sure if it's eczema or something but the Eucerin wash and cream for redness really have alleviated it for the most part:)

I will look into what you recommended right away, thank you! And I'm on the same boat, I'm not sure if mine is eczema or Rosacea, but I'm just testing different things to try to find something that helps.

I wouldn't experiment with too many things because it could amplify your redness. I'm the one that told you to try mirvaso, I'm surprised it's not working as well for you. But I have been getting anxiety or overheated at school and I get red too. I will attach a picture of what happened to me after being in the hot gym for a few minutes. With me I also get headaches and feverish. Maybe you could try to take some of the mirvaso with you to school and reapply it if needed. (Picture is me at school)

Hey Ivey! Yeah, I read the reviews even before I went out and got the prescription, and 95% of the woman who tried mirvaso experienced an outbreak of redness during the day, but I gave it a shot anyway, but sadly I got the same result. And about experimenting with too many topical medications, I agree, that might be pretty bad. I think I'm going to wait a bit, and then maybe look into some antibiotics for redness, that might be better.
