I have prom on May 7th and I had super bad bacne for years so there's a lot of scarring and dark spots but the back of my dress is open and I don't want to wear my hair down. Is there anything anyone knows about that can lessen the appearance of dark spots and scars. It's really embarrassing. Thanks!

I have a lot of scars but as I am on accutane they are beginning to disappear! I heard that the Sally Hansen leg makeup is meant to work though

Victoria, I was on accutane for over a year which is a lot longer than they originally thought but my face and back were perfect so I stopped taking it and after a while it all came back. I've tried everything and now I'm on the pill and it's helping tremendously but I still have the scars. Thank you for your help! Hopefully you have much better luck with accutane.

I am on my third month of taking it and I am only left with scars which will hopefully start to fade! What dose were you on?

I'm not sure, it was 3 or 4 years ago but it really helped my skin a lot! My derm was giving me a lot of topicals (which don't work well for me) so I went to my family doctor instead and she said birth control would benefit more and I started seeing results after two weeks. It's been 3 months now and my skin is mostly clear, just scarring and dark spots.

If you can't fade them before them then just use makeup, thats what I did for military ball last year.

I'm no expert in fading acne scars, but you should definitely get into a routine to fade them.
I'm sorry but I highly doubt they will fade completely by may 7, I suggest asking someone to apply some foundation and or concealer on the more noticeable spots. contouring won't help, but makeup can definitely help for 1 day!

But as I said if you do get into a routine, you may be able to fade them a bit.

And Lara, I know it's going to be hard because it's in less than a month but I'm just looking for anything so I don't have to wear my hair down. I just don't want foundation to be super obvious. Thank you!

Makes sense! you should practice beforehand to make sure it blends well... I don't think itll be too obvious if the colour is right and if you set it with a powder.

It will most likely be dark ish at the actual prom so I wouldn't even sweat it. A couple dark spots will not retract and urging from your Besuty but if you really hate it use a lemon sugar scrub ever night on it and it should help to lighten it some, and then use some full coverage concealer, powder, and setting spray (I suggest Ben nye) to totally set and keep it in place all night without transfer
