So I was wondering if any make up aficionados would be able to educate/point out my problems. I have a huge issues of my skin being oily without foundation but then when I apply foundation and I look closely it looks as though my skin is dry and flaky. Anyone possibly know where I'm going wrong here?

Where are you experiencing the flakes on your face and which products are you using?

You may have combo skin, and your products aren't suited for your skin type. It's also important for oily folks to exfoliate in a manner that suits their skin type..as well as tone, treat, etc.

Also to be considered is that you might be struggling with Dermatitis. I'm not saying you are, but in my own experience, Dermatitis can be tough.
Is the flaking on your face accompanied by acne, any bumps, itching, tightness or discomfort?

Is your skin calm? Are you oily only in certain parts of your complexion? Is the air dry in your home? More info would be super helpful.

Do you stay hydrated? What's your eating habits like? And do you mosturize or use any oils?

Your skin may be dehydrated or you may be experiencing this due to a skin condition like dermatitis. What products are you using? Can you describe your skin in more detail? Redness, always oily or time frame for that, do you only notice the flakiness when you put on makeup? Are you prepping your skin? Anything you can include will help us help you :)

I have good eating habits since I am currently breastfeeding my first child🤗. Staying very hydrated, lots of vegetables, and protein! As for my routine I use Neutrogena make up remover to clean my face and then organic coconuts butter every night. For my daily make up I have been trying Revlon's Colorstay Whipped Creme along with Neutrogena mascara. Please forgive my makeup ignorance of these are horrible products 😭. I just really don't know much about makeup but know that what I'm trying right now is not working or giving me the look is like to have!

Sarah has so many valid questions and they are really important to determine more specific information about your skin...redness, itchiness..bumps..patches..etc.

The Revlon Whipped is not my favorite and I'm dry. I'm leaning toward Dermatitis from what little info I have, and so I can't really recommend anything until I have more detail about your skin's habits and if this comes and goes..if this reactionary, sore and so on.

Knowing all that would maybe help us provide some relief with suggestions for both routine and products.
