I have a cold sore on my lip and I need to do how to get rid of it please!

There is a medicine called cure a sore, you have to ask the pharmacy because they keep it behind the counter, it is pretty good.smells awful. if you can get your doctor to call you in zovirax pills, those are great if you take them as soon as you feel one.

There are lots of things you can use to help combat coldsores, but mostly you just need to wait it out. I get them pretty bad, these are things I do to help get rid of them!

-L-lysine is a vitamin that combats the herpes virus in the body. It is found naturally in milk. Careful not to take too much at a time, when I take too much it makes me sick.

-vanilla extract on a cotton ball and hold it on the sore

- abreva and medicated blistex at night before bed, or all day depending on how bad they are

-lots and lots and lots of sleep and water!! Coldsores can come due to lack of sleep, lack of eating right, and stress so these help.

-I use different makeup brushes for when I have coldsores, I am careful to not spread it around my face since the sores can spread to your nose and eyes.

- change your toothbrush when your coldsore clears, the virus can transfer back onto your mouth if it's on your toothbrush.

- go to your doctor or dentist and get a prescription for pills. I'm not sure what they are called.

I have gotten up to 30 coldsores at a time, and they usually come with my period so I get them quite a lot and pretty severe. Hopefully this helps :)
