I'm sorry; it runs in my family, as does Psoriasis. I know it can be tough.
In the link below, look for products that have a seal from the National Eczema Foundation on them. At the link, the menu on the left, provides links to cleansers and moisturizers as well as fabric softeners/detergents and sunscreens that are recommendation by the foundation. Exederm is often highly effective and non-irritating as are certain Aveeno Products, CeraVe and Cetaphil.

It helps to use all cotton sheets, changed twice a week and an allergen mattress cover and pillow cover beneath your linens. Do you suffer from Asthma by any chance?
Are you currently using a script for cortisone?
Bathing rituals are very important when you have a skin disase like Eczema.
Your skin doe not have the ability to retain moisture and so you have to be careful not to dry it out and to always be replenishing moisture lost. Cooler water, beneficial oils, Hyalauronic acid...these really help. You need to keep your showers and baths quick and on the cool side..and apply moisturizer or healing oils *immediately* after you bathe. Sweet Almond Oil and Jojoba are both great for Eczema..and are affordable. They can be mixed into moisturizers if you feel that works best for you. (Always always test patch products when you introduce them)
Moisturizing more than once a day is often necessary. I'd bath or shower at night and moisturize heavily so that skin can get maximum benefit while you sleep undisturbed. If you bathe, don't exceed 15 minutes and keep showers at around 10. Bubblebaths are bad news for Eczema. When you get out of a bath or shower...pat the skin lightly dry, but do not completely dry it. Leave some dampness to the skin so that your moisturizer can lock that in. Long, hot baths do more harm than good with your type of skin. Avoid scrubs...they are simply too harsh.
Ariana is right in that oatmeal is a HUGE friend of yours.
These types of baths benefit your skin the most.

Eczema runs way beyond just the skin and unfortunately, like Psoriasis, there is no cure..but that doesn't mean you can't get it under control and minimize breakouts and discomfort. I'd switch Derms if yours is not effective.
Moisturizing during the day isn't always easy, but you can make a spray moisturizer for refreshing and touching up skin quickly mid-day or in the morning (since you've moisturized at night.)
This works very well. I make it and use it myself. (I have Psoriasis)

A journal for a month or two may help you pinpoint when your skin improves or worsens. Certain fabrics can irritate, for example, so you may find when you wear a certain blouse or use a blanket, then you see an increase in irritation. Dust, cold atmospheres (even air conditioning too cold) or too much heat, specifically humidity, can trigger worsen or spread Eczema. It's difficult, but certain seasons are often more difficult than others and so adjusting your clothing, bathingand habits accordingly as best you can should help. Try to wear breathable fabrics, such as pure cotton, linen, silk and hemp. Also, see if there are any foods that trigger irritation.
This may prove helpful with some great tips.

My daughter has Psoriasis and my son has eczema. These two do run in my husband side of the family extremely. My niece's has really dried skin to the point of cracked and bleeding. They both had the allergie test and come to find out one was allergic to a lot of thing's even apple's which caused the flare ups, interesting right. We all pretty much have our prescription creams for the kids which helps but the common Store brand soothing product's the docs told all of us to use in addition to the prescription cream is Eucerin, Aquaphor and believe it or not they had also suggested vaseline at one point to help seal the skin. Not so much about oils because that could also be tricky. Now as for oatmeal I would be careful as this has not been a soothing process for my niece or daughter. My niece actually had developed a awful reaction and it made her skin irritation worst but again she's allergic to a lot of things and my daughter felt annoying itching and doc suggest we don't do that again. This may not ring true for other's just be careful and like Rozberry suggested have a diary and try to find out the triggers of any skin flare up. Rozberry humidity is the worst for my daughter psoriasis Ugh.Livia hope you find some comfort.

Ask your doctor about Hydrocortisone and Eumovate.

Thank you guys so much!! I am currently using hydrocortisone, but it doesn't seem to clear it up.

Alma, does your daughter ever use occlusion in her Psoriasis treatments?
I agree on the Aquaphor. It has the sealing properties of Vaseline, but it has glycerin to also moisturize and calming ingredients added that help skin repair itself. I am never without it.

Hi there, I suffer from crazy eczema in the exact same places as you. I do not apply Vaseline as that irritates, but I do suggest Sorbeline as it gets rid of the need to scratch, also I went to my doctor and got a prescription for a eczema cream, which got rid of it all, although I can't remember it's name! good luck :)
