So I am a dancer and I have been allowed to wear makeup for about two years and have been wearing mascara for about a half a year and I was wondering if you have any recommendations for foundation and mascara or just any makeup. 😄

I definitely don't recommend wearing makeup while dancing, or working out in general. Makeup and sweat don't mix, it'll just clog your pores.

Try getting waterproof mascara and maybe a bb cream with powder. But I definitely agree with alexis.

I'm with Alexis, I wouldn't recommended wearing any makeup when dancing or anything active in general. when you sweat, anything on your face will mix with your sweat thus clogging your pores. if anything, LIGHT waterproof makeup will be your best friend. however, I still don't recommend wearing any makeup.

Maybe a bit of eye makeup to make it pop (water proof) but stay away from foundation like Alexis said.

I was a competitive dancer for 11 years and danced for over 15, and I wore foundation quite often and never had any issues. Just make sure you use a primer and setting spray (kvd lock n load) and cleanse thoroughly afterwards. When competing, I always wore foundation because I wanted to look my best and there were a lot of videos and photos being taken as well. Are you asking for suggestions for competitions with dance or just dance practice? My favorite long lasting foundation at the moment is Estee lauder double wear. it is fuller coverage which you may not need, mac face and body is great as well for a light coverage. If you're looking for something cheaper, I'm not a fan of drugstore foundations but L'Or?al true match is my favorite of the ones I've tried.

And I just wanted to mention I also agree with the ladies that it's not the healthiest thing for your skin to wear makeup while working out or dancing but that just means you need to be cautious and like I mentioned thoroughly clean your skin afterwards. Even wearing makeup constantly during dance competitions and sometimes even hours of practices I've always had great skin, even during puberty years I never broke out & that's still the case. Everyone's skin is different but don't think just because you wear makeup and sweat there will be consequences for your skin. I usually would cleanse, exfoliate and apply a mask afterwards.

Wear waterproof mascara because I had gym and had to rush to get my makeup done in the locker room, plus change out, and when I rushed it made it messed up even more so just don't even wear it unless you 100% need to.

I am a dancer and I wear waterproof mascara, bb cream and eyebrow stuff to dance. As long as I lock it in with powder my foundation doesn't get too oily. Depends on if it's hot and you're going to sweat.

When competing, go all out!
But when it's just a class, I'd suggest no makeup. I was a gymnast for 12 years and I've coached for a year and a half and have never worn makeup. I've seen girls absolutely caked in makeup and it just melts as they sweat. It's wasted makeup as far as I'm concerned and there's always the problems with blocked pores.

I used to dance for 6 years I would use just a light foundation and a light drown eyeliner on the eyes it will make your face pop but won't be ruined
