Few months ago I wanted to dye my hair white. I gathered all the information I could(I should thank you for some of them :) ) then decided it's not the best thing could be done with my hair because it's naturally black.
but I can't give up! my hair grows so fast so I was wondering how often do I need to do my roots? Also is bleaching roots harder than box dying roots?

You could always ombré the roots a little bit so you can get away with a bit more grow out :) like the picture below! It will allow you to go longer without dying your roots and protect your hair. Roots are actually quite easy to bleach because they're fully virgin so the only thing the bleach needs to lift is the actual pigment :)

You'd most likely have to do the roots every month or so, but I really love Brittanys idea!! Black to silver/grey ombres are stunning! :)

I'm getting it done but I don't think my hairdresser did something like this before, should I try anyway or go to someone else? (it's still pretty uncommon having hairs like this)

And it would allow you do go longer periods of time before retouching them :)

Ask her if she's had experience with doing things like this. If not, find someone who has. It's better to have an experienced person doing it.

Since she's never done something like what you're asking I would go to someone else.

If she seems vague about the process I'd go to someone else, especially where bleaching will be involved.
