I have Z palettes that I've added some of my MAC shadows & blushes in as well as Makeup geek which I did recently and am in love with it. It's great for traveling because you can have almost everything you need in one palette or just shadows and can bring only the colors you want. I definitely suggest getting a Z palette (they sell them on beautylish) and you can gradually fill it up and I'd definitely look into MUG shadows to add to them.

Invest in a large z pallete for sure, you can basically add any brand that sells singles! The Mac, makeupgeek and MUFE singles (I depotted mine) I recommend. Anastasia also sells refills for contour powders and you can keep little things like that in there too. I like to keep for SURE a matte medium brown, a black, a good white, and the rest depends one what you like. Have neutrals but also be sure you're including enough variety where you can actually make different looks. One red, a purple and a silver or gold are usually good additions

I have made urban dwcay palettes and z palettes, my urban decay palettes have came to around $82 without tax it has 4 shadows and the actual palette, each shadow is $18 and the palette is $10... My z palettes well I've bought a inglot shadow and mac but most of the stuff in it is depot but o enjoy the flexibility of being able to put anything in it.

You can build your own pallette right here on Beautylish! Inglot let's you build your own eye shadow, blush, lip, and concealer palettes :) You can read Inglot reviews in the review section and the price is factored on how big the pallette is and how much you put into it :)

Not sure if it has been mentioned here before but Costal Scents has pretty great build your own palettes available. The palatte starts at around $4 for 4 shadow slots and $10 for 28 shadow slots. They sell the shadows for $1.95 each, but you can get them for half off when they go on sale. You can also make other palettes on their site like blush etc. Hope this helps. Happy Birthday!!
