I'm not sure if it's supposed to be used for fading discoloration, I believe it's just for moisturizing. I think the reason people recommend jojoba oil to moisturize the face is because its closest to our natural oils. Also, if your skin is already moisturized by the oil, then it will prevent itself from producing excessive amounts to compensate for the lack thereof. My derm said things you can do to fade acne scars is to either use a vitamin c serum, exfoliate, or use sunscreen.

Jojoba oil has been shown to enhance skin's barrier repair properties and ability to heal from damage it also seems to stimulate collagen production and help skin better defend itself against UV light damage, but I'd say try to find a product with a mixture of ingredients instead of just one! Paula's choice makes a few products that work really nice for discolorations, maybe try some samples? also vitamin C is really good for fading cars and whatnot. hope I helped!
