Just a warning I'll probably be posting about hair dying a lot as it's my first time having it done. But I wanted to know if there's anything specific I have to do to my hair before getting it dyed? Like should it be freshly washed or not? Or should it be trimmed? Also what would be the best way to care for it after?

What color are you getting done? If it's a blonde color or red then you need shampoo/conditioner specially formulated to keep the color lasting longer. you'll probably need to get it touched up every 6-8 weeks. you'll want to deep condition your hair afterwards at least once a week. Also you always always cut your hair after you dye it. never before because when you cut it your cutting off damage and if you die it after the cut you just have to cut more. if you're going lighter and depending on how dark you hair is if it is dark you'll have to bleach it at least once and that can cause damage.

It shouldnt be clean, the dirt/grease in it will help the dye molecules stick. right after, you should use like a keratin or anything really smoothing or strengthening for your hair thats COLOR SAFE. it could strip the color right off if you don't. oils and hydration sprays will also keep it super healthy :)

You shouldn't need to do much since it isn't a major change. I would just recommend getting a color-stay shampoo. Since you there will be blonde you could get a purple shampoo to keep the highlights from turning brassy, but since it's such a small amount, it isn't necessary. Try to use a deep conditioner once or twice a week to keep your hair from getting brittle and weak!

I had my hair dyed on the 14th April, and the only thing I'd say is get a shampoo and conditioner for colour-treated hair. I recommend the red bottle of Garnier. Make sure your hair is dirty when you go in. I got my hair trimmed as well when I had it dyed.
If you use a semi-permanent colour, it'll fade. If it's a permanent colour, it'll grow out.
