Hmmm, I think striping tape could work but you could also try just taping your nails off in the shape you want the black lines and painting the edges. If you do that, be careful and make sure that the tape isn't super sticky, that your base color is at least a day old and that you take the tape off as soon as you're finished painting the black. Also, if you have super steady hands, painting that with a thin nail art brush would be really easy to do.

For me I think it would be easiest to do the lighter color then hand draw the lines, and clean up anything that got onto your skin with nailpolish remover, or you could paint it black, then make sure it dried and put tape around the edges then paint over with the lighter color.

I agree with Gabby! Hand painting the black is your best bet. If you decide to use tape, stick it to your hand and pull it off a few times to get most of the stickiness off. You can then use the tape over your base coat, as long as it is completely dry (but you don't have to wait a day, usually 20-30 minutes is safe)

Please show your results and how it worked for you Shannie! I personally always fail when trying to use tape like that and it always removes my polish D; So I would love to hear the tricks on how you do it ;)

You could even use nail tape in the colour black but I haven't used them so I wouldn't know how well they stick
