I'd say try to find some super sheer/light flowy long sleeves, just so you're covered but can still feel a breeze, and anything in lighter colors would be best because the darker it is the more heat its going to keep on it.

Oooh a long sleeve peasant crop top would be really cute (like a Princess Jasmin shirt) but cropped a bit longer so it just meets YOur pants. Or a white tank top and a light flowy kimono.

Well you can wear a solid one color tshirt. My mom went to egypt like 8 years ago. She wore shorts and tanks in the city but in certain places you get stared at (she didn't care) but she just brought jeans and loose tshirts incase.
And btw Cocoa, in Turkey you can literally wear whatevet you want unless you go into super religious towns. I have a lot of family there and they don't cover up at all lol...
Shanaya, so some research online to see what you should be wearing because not every muslim country is strict when it comes to womens clothes! And enjoy your trip!!

But yeah you should really google the specific area you're going to.

Shanaya, I'm guessing your going to sham el sheikh or Cairo or something like that, which is tourist cities so they won't care if you wear a cropped top with those pants... They wouldn't care if you wore a bikini top with them!
Egypt might be a muslim country but they are a very liberal muslim country!

Sabrina's right. Really the only time I'd say really think about what you're wearing is if you're visiting somewhere religious. When I was there I had no problems but I did dress modestly (ie: covering knees and shoulders) as I was visiting a mosque.
Turkey and Egypt are both very liberal if you're going to touristy places. But if you're concerned then my rule of thumb is the fingertip rule for skirts and shorts (I also personally add an inch), cover your shoulders, midriff and the hand rule for low cut tops (ie if you place your hand on your collarbone your top should not finish past that point.

I live in Bursa, Turkey. it's not one of the most religious cities. I can wear crop tops, muscle tanks and strapless tops without having a problem. But I would suggest keeping the skin showing minimal.
I would bring a large, light colored shawl to cover my shoulders and head if I'm going in a religious place.

With the recent conflicts in the region, you're safer dressing more conservatively even in tourist destinations. A loose long sleeve top in a solid color with a modest neckline that isn't sheer and definitely covers your shoulders is most appropriate. Choose fabrics that are light and breathable, without being too sheer. It is very hot and can be humid in the daytime, but can be chilly at night. Remember to wear lots of sunscreen!
Also, though there is a very vocal Muslim population and much of the political strife in the region is because of the rise of Islamic extremism, Egypt's predominant religion is coptic Christianity. Regardless, still a very conservative area.
