I've been noticing a trend here and it needs to stop before our community becomes a ghost town. I'm going to cut to the chase and get blunt.

Please seriously think before posting threads. Mindless posts that do not create a healthy dialogue bogs down other posts that have relevant content or pose questions for assistance that would be beneficial for other members.

While we all love seeing the MOTD's such posts need to have some sort of interaction beyond the positive accolades. Everyone has been great at posting the products used but lets get to the nitty gritty and give some technical details...HOW was it created. Almost like a step by step tutorial. It keeps everyone engaged and not only that its morale booster for the original poster as they are able to educate those who following the thread.
So keep the MOTD's in the photo section and on the profile and let the talk section be a place for more detailed posts!

Another issue that has come to my attention...lets stick to the topic at hand when responding to a post. So many times conversations veer off into territory that has caused BL keyboard battles and its insane. This site is my sanctuary and I'm sure a few of you would agree with me on that assessment so its a brain drain when I as a mod have to go in and play referee instead of helping others.

So in closing, lets all be mindful of what we post so we can keep this community free of drama and beneficial for all.

Well said Shelley!!

Keeping the motd's in the photo section is a great point, as that is the place to look for makeup inspiration :)

I agree! It really irtitates me when people go off topic as I've seen a lot here lately. It would also be nice to see motd in the photo section unless techiques are shared! Don't get me wrong I enjoy seeing what products are used to create a look but a step by step guide with the tools that were used would be great to see.

Thank ya Sabrina. Rebecca...most definitely! When I need inspiration I either seek out those I follow (look at their profile pics) or I just go to the photo's section.

Absolutely What is needed. Please spread the word we need active threads. This also helps prevent other threads with actual question's get pushed down and lost in the mix of motd threads.

Yes Liz make the thread have more Value.Ask yourself before posting; what would be the meaning of posting a Motd, was it asked for by the community? or does it fit better just posted on the personal profile?.If your sharing a few product's and want to review your thought's about it as well as show your finish result's and share how you achieved the look, that would be far more interesting. I think it would actually be more catching as a great Find of the day or Product's of the day versus just a Motd.We are finding that all looks from Motd's are the same just different color's on a daily from the same faces and all though it's cute we want more to have the community talking with insight that could be educational for all who love a look not just pretty ticket's. lol,We would also like the author of the threads to please stay on task with the threads they create,be respectful to all that took the time to give attention to the threads and say Thank you.If many have noticed sometimes people make way to many threads to even keep track of them, when they can just simply ask all their question's on one thread versus 10 threads all at once.Hope this helped in any way. :)

Great thread!
I've been getting annoyed by some of the posts I've been seeing lately. there have been too many "look at me!" type posts without having any substance in the post

Honestly a great topic Shelley I've been pretty much a ghost around here lately and this topic has a lot to do with it.

I do and don't agree with this, but that's my personal opinion. I completely agree to the off topic talking. But I don't necessarily agree with the new MOTD guidelines, it just seems like it's one thing after another that keeps being added to make it that much more difficult to post. But rules are rules, whether you like them or not they need to be followed

I am totally with Nicole A.! been a ghost for a while since all I can say on posts are "wow you look great "... hope this tread gives a little oomph to the posts  :)

Genevieve we hope so to :) we also hope that when most of the motd will go into the photo section we won't have such a problem with posts being buried and people not getting any responses.

What if you are looking for how to improve something, like you've tried it but it didn't turn out quite right so you'd like some advice on how to make it better next time? If you know what I mean??

What if you would like some advice on something you have done, like you've tried it but it didn't turn out right or you would like to advice to improve it. If you get what I mean.

Sorry didn't mean to post twice xD.

Breeze T.

Oh no Jackie I LOVE it!!

And Skye, of course you can always ask for advice on how to improve, but it's really useful to get more info on how the look was made even in your case :)

You can ask for advice but also give the community feed back on how you tried to create the look. It's simple and asking minimal really.Has it gotten so bad that we can't even type anything like simple instruction's but rather post picture's as if it's a picture book?without words? Communication is key and educational, we can learn if we just added a bit more info. Why can't this community be the truthful learning base that out beats's all other internet avenue's? You all have talent and all are learning so why not just combined and be a REAL learning site for the general public? You know your faces are seen here every day on BL and everyone is familiar with every person on this site so take advantage of helping your fellow members that's all. It's just typing and using's your skill to help, it's not complicated.Ask yourself is it that difficult to type a few more words or think beyond a picture?

Tessandra I definitely agree with you its a MOTD in the talk section, not a tutorial. I don't understand why we have to explain now how exactly we did this and etc.etc.we list the products is that not enough? it seems like you guys just keep pulling guidelines out of everywhere for everything now. I probably won't just post anymore in general but I will keep it to look at the nice looks that some of the lovely ladies upload here.
