Are Beauty Blenders Worth The Price?

I've heard people say that the original Beauty Blenders are better than other brands but aren't they all just sponge? Is there a difference?

I aways hear ppl saying that there is such a big difference but I honestly think its BS. Its a freaking sponge. Just one of those things that ppl like just bcuz its a popular brand name. I'm sure its just as good as the Real Techniques makeup sponge which is a lot less expensive.

I have the real techniques and the beauty blender, in my opinion I find myself going for the Bb more because it's bouncier on my skin and I feel like it doesn't absorb so much product. I'm not saying The real techniques doesn't work, I'm just saying I use the beauty blender more. If you're not very very picky about applications (like I am) I think the RT would be fine. Idk about the other sponges

The beauty blender is the best sponge I've tried but to be honest, all sponges just seem unsanitary for me and I think brushes do a better job anyway. The only differences with sponges are the coverage it gives, how much product it absorbs (can be dependant on the foundation too) and the finish. I find that it makes my foundations look more dewy, somehow.

Beauty blenders actually aren't the same, they're made of different material. I like my dupes a lot though so I've never actually tried the Beauty Blender, so I don't have a day between wether or not they work the same. I would assume so, but I dunno

I believe Jacqueline has said it before, it's in the technique and movement of the wrist and not the sponge itself. I use a sponge from Target that was like $3 to blend my concealer when I highlight and it's looks amazing, no need for a Beauty Blender.

Ladies with all do respect you can't call bull on something you havent tried, the bb is like no other sponge in the market alma has mentioned its made out of a different matterial and it is, I had dupes and I regret not investing in the bb in the first place that was a waste of money, those never had bounce turned hard as a rock and ended up looking more like a dogs chew toy, the bb is light and bouncy and unlike all those dupes out there, when you wet the bb it increases in size and gets even softer unlike those crapy dupes they never in creased in size or get softer, belive me when I say the bb is worth every single penny and I will never ever ever be buying a dupe again, you ladys need to try it before you call bull on it cuz you don't know what your talking about once u try it u will see that a so called supe is no where near a bb

The beauty blender material is like a microphone cover made to apply with ease and no fuss it doesn't have grooves or air pockets like other sponges do and it expands when wet and left to dry it keeps its shape and texture. Yes the price is up there I'm sure so many wished it cost less but because it's different in texture is what makes the cost high.I also understand people always look for a outlet as to why they look for a so called dupe and it's OK but it's even better if you actually used it to even compare to any other sponge. It's not my go to when applying foundations but it's nice to set it even and dab or to soften highlight,use to apply moisturizer, apply primer,dab color on to your lips the list of this beauty blender goes on.Its always best to try it out for yourself to have a better understanding as to why this is a good sponge. :)

Thank you all so much! Ill get a cheaper sponge for now to see if I even like using that type of applicator or maybe just a better foundation brush because I don't really like the one I have been using

I completely agree with Lili, you can't call something out that you haven't tried. I just got a set that included the micro mini Beauty blender& although I haven't used it on my face yet the material is a lot different than a dupe I have. It's a lot softer & spongy & the dupe is hard & stiff

Honestly Lexi I think you should just try it. The worst that can happen is you won't like it & you'll get a different brush. But if you go for a dupe your going to think they're all the same & once you try the BB you'll see what a waste of money it was buying dupes.

Ohh and I forgot to mention, to those of you ladies who say ohh they stain they are dirty and unsanitary you guys are absolutely wrong, the beautiful lady here (alma) said it needs to be cleaned with its cleanser that, thats one of the reasons it has its on cleanser and she was right I have the solid and that solid left my sponge like I just took it out of the container squeeky clean, I purposely tried to ruin it to see if the soap really cleaned (I have the solid) and put the thickest heviest foundation I have (KA bb cream) and even put gel liner on it and not a single stain at all so I have to call bull on that I hope this helps you ladies.

Gissle is righy try the original if you can instead of the dupe cuz dupes give the bb a bad name

Well thanks Lili,I'm so glad you bought it now it all make sense right? Look at it this way ladies how many have a load of bronzer's trying to look for that perfect color to contour with yet all that could have been avoided and had cost way less had some just bought a plain sculpting powder because sculpting powder was made for helping contouring,it fits all skin tones no more no less the main product was there all along but because of the price of it people choose to look for a outlet or justification as to why they shouldn't get the actual product.I say it's really is up to you why not splurge a bit :)

Lilll, with mine (I own the cleanser for it) it never seems to be completely clean and still looks like it has foundation on it, that's the main reason I dislike using mine! Do you know if specific foundations cause this? Or am I just doing it wrong?

I hate to say it but everyone who says its like any other sponge clearly hasn't tried it. It is amazing! I have tried hundreds of makeup sponges and the BB is so different to a sponge it almost bouncy and it just makes foundation and concealer flawless. It really isn't a sponge I would say its completely different

Rebecca if you clean it after every use it will not stain I have had mine 6 months and it still looks brand new because I wash it every time, it's a pain but I'm ocd about cleanliness haha!
