Does coconut oil/shea butter make your hair color fade?

I read somewhere that coconut oil can make color treated hair fade. Has anyone found this to be true? My hair stylist recommended I use it on my ends, but I'm nervous. What about shea butter? I used Shea Moisture shea butter treatment masque a while ago and noticed the red in my hair had faded, but I'm not sure if it was because of something else. Thanks for the help!! :)

I used to have red hair and I do coconut oil masks at least once a week. If you're really worried get the John Frieda radiant red shampoo and conditioner.
