Personally I think that's a little tacky
But what you do is choose makeup colors that compliment your outfit, not clash with it
The safest look is wearing neutral makeup

I personally don't like to do eyeshadow looks with the exact colors of my outfit. instead I usually do neutral colors & incorporate the color or a color of my shirt into the look if that makes sense 😊 but then again, sometimes I like to do neutral eyes & choose a lip color that matches / compliments my outfit.

One time I wore a nyx lippie I think it was in the color hunk and it was almost the same color as my scarf would that be to tacky?

I think it's fine Jennifer. Makeup can match or not it comes down to your desire and choice of the look your going for. If it's tacky then I'm tacky lol but this tacky let's me work on faces. Just have fun with makeup be free to gamble,Mix match or hint of color find your personal style :)

The only time I do that is if I'm in say a red dress then I'll use red lipstick but I do agree with thickra it can look tacky

I don't mean that everytime you match outfit to makeup it looks tacky, it's just that sometimes people will over do it
It's good to add a hint of similar colors from your outfit to your makeup to unify your look
If your scarf matches your lipcolor its not tacky...unless your scarf is blue and so is your lip lol 😅
And hunk is a gorgeous color btw, I really wanna get it

Ya I would still be considered Tacky then because If I had a blue scarf and could rock the blue lip with it I would lol but hey I can respect opinion's we all are different which makes it a load of fun here on BL we can't all be clone's ;)

I don't think it's tacky! I would so do that if I could pull off other colors. I am more of a neutral eye type of gal because I honestly can't pull off colors haha!

Every person sees things differently, so in the end wear what you like and what you feel comfortable in. Everyone has different opinions, so it's best to just be yourself and do what you like

I think it looks nice most times. But if you're wearing a lime green shirt I probably wouldn't wear lime green eyeshadow :D but that's about it

Well yes, you don't want to look like you can't match colours. But always build up on the natural makeup. Red dress - natural makeup maybe an eyeliner (?) well just keep in mind that the eyeshadow and lip colour should look together with your outfit

I think it depends. If I'm wearing a top with lots of colours in it and plain bottoms I'll pick one of the colours out of the top and find a lippie that matches or line my bottom lashline with a similar colour.
If I wear (for example) red shoes then I might wear a red lipstick too but keep the rest of the outfit plain. But I love wearing a similar colour lower lashline eyeshadow colour to what I'm wearing
