Hey y'all! Just wondering how you girls protect your hair from the harsh chlorine I'm swimming pools? I've avoided getting my hair wet in pools and its getting a little old.

Yeah, I always saturate my hair with conditioner before and after I get in the pool. I haven't attempted the oil method for I don't like how it feels, and the amount that I swim, I don't want it to mess up anything in the pool, but I don't know if it would :)

Thanks I will probably try both to test them out! I've heard of wetting your hair with plain water before jumping in but I didn't think that would do too much.

I've heard of that too, and I think it would totally work, I mean the concept behind it makes sense, I just don't have the patience to wet my hair everything I get in the pool beforehand haha

I have avoided it too. Hope you don't mind if I follow? 😊

Before you get in, make sure your hair is soaking wet as it will absorb less chlorine. If you can, saturate your hair with conditioner before you get it and wash your hair when you get out. You can buy special swimmers shampoo (my friend swims professionally and she recommend that to me) that strips the hair of all the chlorine. If you can, wear a swimming cap too.
