I recently changed my workout routine. I started lifting weights and I am having trouble with my skin breaking out. I get pimples and oily texture. I still use the same cleanser and make up remover. Any tips?

What cleanser and make up remover are you using? It definitely helps to cleanse your skin before and after working out. I like to remove my make up using miceller water and I usually cleanse with a cream cleanser that contains an active like Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. I usually follow with my Clinique moisture surge spray. Try to minimize touching your face while you work out especially since your pores open up a bit. You can also apply a spot treatment right after you work out and wash your face. I personally find if I don't properly tend to my face before working out and after that it will contribute to clogged pores.

Kitty gave awesome advice. I used to be heavy into weight lighting and when I first started I had a bad habit of touching my face in between sets due to wiping away sweat or just simply out of habit. And I would break out. The equipment isn't spiffy clean and since everybody and their mama has been touching them it's no telling what nastiness is getting transferred. So be sure to wash your hands before working out and then ultilize the antibacterial hand gel periodically during the course of your workout. Then of course be sure not to touch your face.

I use Clinique cleanser and moisturizer and aveno make up removing wipes. I normally have great skin so the breakouts are stumping me. I will for sure stop touching my face while I lift though.

Definitely agree with Shelley and kitty - wash your face before n after a work out - and clean the equipment before n after you use it (most gyms have cleaning spray n towels right next to the equipment and if they don't then you can always ask for some)
