I love makeup and I wear a lot of it often but quite recently I'be started noticing weird reaction to the makeup. My eyes water uncontrollably (messing it up!!) and I get itchy eyes. Any ideas what is going on? Can I still wear makeup? I really want to! Please help!

Your eyes may be sensitive or irritated by a certain ingredient in your products.
What products are you using that cause this?

Are they items that have red dye in them? For example, purples or red browns?

When it happens I'm wearing...
Revlon colorstay black liquid eye pen
Rommel London scandal eye precision eye pen waterproof
Rimmel London volume flash scandal eyes mascara
Cover girl black eye enhancer (eyeshadow)

It would probably be good to try more natural makeup brands like lush and Aveda and see if the allergy goes away.

Hm... I would slowly rotate in one new item at a time, to replace your current products, using that product for a few weeks before adding more new products and seeing if you still get that reaction.

Ok! I'll try that! Thanks Shiphrah and Tiffany

My eyes are very sensitive especially when applying mascara and eyeliner. I just avoid putting eyeliner on my waterline because it irritates it. My eyes aren't as irritated when I put it on my top lash line so I still continue to do that. For mascara, I just switch them out and I am very careful when I apply it.

If it's just those products, I would get new ones! some people cannot use drugstore makeup just because the formula is bad for their skin compared to high end makeup.

Thanks so much. I'll try another mascara and eyeliner!

It could just be certain brands I have the same issue but more so with lipsticks , (my eyes aren't as sensitive) if I use certain brands/colors the bottom half of my face blows up like a balloon and I get bunches of pimples , I agree with the trying more natural brands and don't wear the makeup as long

hope that helps!

It might just be those products or brands in general. For example, I can't wear anything by Maybelline, it makes my skin like a tomato, my skin burns, peels, is very painful and itchy
