Hey everyone,
I'm after any suggestions or tips here.
For the past few months or so, I've been having to wash my hair every second day. Whenever I wash it, it goes really dry. The day after, my hair is always ridiculously oily. I don't use any heat on my hair, and very little product, so I really don't know why this happens. I can only think of one thing that may be something to do with it, that is I am prettymuch constantly touching my hair. I don't know if that is why though.
Also, when my hair is oily and I wet it, it gets really clumpy and sticks together. It's gross, and I don't know what to do!
Any suggestions on this? It really annoys me :( My hair is very short, if that helps.

Hi Hailey, I've been using the Pantene 'Classic Care' shampoo for a while now.

Ya, never touch your hair. try using a mask for your dry hair, I like the aussie 3 minute miracle, which I leave on for about 5 minutes.

Jocelyn is right about washing your hair too often. I wash mine every 3 days but I ALWAYS use my argan oil leave in treatment after each wash prior to using my Ultralight Ionic hair dryer and my G3 Salon Pro styling iron. Hair is shiny, no split ends, no static and definitely not dry.
NB: I only apply the argan oil to the ends and up to ear level.

A hair dresser told me that Pantene isn't good for your hair, I once tried the shampoo without the conditioner and it made my hair so dry like never before, it was like straw lol

Hi! Don't use pantene! It's not good for hair and my hair didn't like it either! Are your hands oily? If they are not it wouldn't be a problem! You might want to switch to natural shampoos for a while they have really good ones at Holland and barret! Also switch to scrunchies instead of hair bands because they cause less breakage! It might just be hormones though! And don't wash hair too much I only wash once or twice a week and my hair looks fine and smells good!

You have to train it. I'd suggest a deep clean with a clarifying shampoo and then using sulfate and silicone free shampoo/conditioner. There's plenty of drugstore options like the Loreal ever - line, organix etc. Pantene is not "bad" It's just not very moisturizing. (Sara a- any shampoo without the conditioner afterwards will be drying) and so you'd need a better, more concentrated conditioner anyways. If your ends are dry, I'd suggest using a hair mask every few washes. Just as a regular conditioner. From the ears down or just on the ends. It really helps with dehydrated ends without making the scalp oily. I use a hair mask almost every time I wash my hair.
When you have no where to go that day and aren't seeing anyone important, don't wash your hair. So if you spend a weekend at home, don't wash it till the day you are leaving the house. It'll be gross. But worth it. I suggest buying a beanie or hat you are comfortable in, I liked to wear one while training my hair (I wash it 1-2 times a week) because I didn't like looking at it lol. Definitely make it a designated oily hair hat though. Dry shampoo is a lifesaver on second or third day hair, but only use it when you need to. If you aren't going out or its not noticeably oily, don't use it as it can dry the scalp out causing more oils (which makes you buy more product).
Also - lin f - don't put any oil or product with oil in before heat styling. I know everyone says after your shower put oil in the ends. But wait till you've done all the heat or are air drying.
Using oil before heat is basically deep frying your hair. It may not be noticeable right now, but trust me it's really bad for the hair.

Thanks so much everyone! I will try everything out, and will definitely stop using Pantene.
