OK so I have very long hair like up to my waist , and I've been noticing that its been falling out to much and people tell me "the longer it is the faster it will fall out" do y'all think this this is true? I could find strands of hair in my room anywhere. can anyone relate?

Well the longer your hair is the more it becomes tangled because there's more hair to tangle. Since its long it's more noticeable also but all our hair shed to begin with anyway. I notice this about my own hair as well. Also another thing that could happen, when women become pregnant some women actually stop shedding and I loved that!! My hair was so full and thick, but after birth I shed twice maybe three times as much lol. I figured my body was getting back to normal and the shed 9 months worth of hair that should've been shedding.

Well do keep in mind that because your hair is long, it will appear a lot worse compared to short hair.
You could do protein treatments to help woth strength and length retention, but I do recommend a nice trim to help with the weight since your hair is fine.

Breakage was a problem for me. The strength cure line from Purology has helped mine a lot, and I trim it every 10-12 weeks.

I don't think the length equates to faster fallout - but the reason long hair breaks easily and is more difficult to maintain is because hair grows from the root and knowing it takes a month to grow half an inch of hair (if you're lucky) hair length of 12+ inches from the root took at least 2 years to get that long - so you have to remember that hair on the ends is essentially "old" and brittle - but you can keep your roots healthy and it will reduce fall out - most of the time with long hair I think it's more breakage that we see - but not fall out from the root - so we notice more hair breaking off and that's probably where that idea comes from - since shorter hair is less prone to breakage compared to long hair - but everyone experiences fall out - that's normal.

I don't know, as the other ladies said there are plenty of reasons why it may seem that way. But I've been growing my hair out & ever since it hit past my boobs it's been falling out like crazy. Not bald spots or anything but I definitely notice it a lot more than I ever did before. My hair is still healthy though, and a lot of people experience "a lot" of hair loss so I just assumed it was normal lol :)
