Hey girls! So next year I'm taking Spanish class for the first time ever. I was wondering does anyone have any tips on how to succeed in it? This is the first time I have ever take a foreign language. Does anyone have any tips on how I could prepare my self. Study tips are also accepted.

Why is this in the hair category? Lol. Well my advice is to practice out loud! Make flashcards with a word/phrase on one side in Spanish and the other side in English. Practicing out loud with a friend is great too!

When learning objects sticky note the name of them in Spanish to that item in your home! Example: "la ventana" on your window! Also watching Spanish movies with English sub titles helps you may not feel like your picking anything up but in reality you are. Or listen to the Spanish radio station or watch telemundo! Haha

Whenever I was learning a language, I tried to use it everyday conversation, then repeating it in english (or vise versa). In high school french and spanishI usually called things by their spanish or french name constantly in order to learn them. I used to ask my college roommates for beer or coffee or whatever in Norwegian and our whole apartment was labeled in vocabulary words.

If you have friends that speak spanish have them talk to you in spanish and help you out. if you hear it over and over you will start to get it.

Spanish is fairly easy. Just take your notes and review them frequently so you don't forget anything :)

I always get vocabulary in my Spanish class and what I do is put them on notecards and study a section at a time so I don't throw it all at me at once and I find that it really helps. I would definitely take as many notes as you can in class and it's also handy to have a pocket Spanish dictionary in class too!

Pay attention to class and watch telenovelas on a high volume because they speak so fast... And with that you can watch what they're doing and pick up on things and piece things together.
