I personally love tattoos! I think it depends on the girl though. I love when I see a girl in a super girly dress with a half sleeve. from what I've seen, I love half sleeves more on girls. It's just enough to show or hide if you need to.

Trashy, in my opinion. If there is something special or momentous to you, maybe but no not reallyZ.

Nothing about art is trashy. its beautiful.

I think the only thing "Trashy" is judging someone for their body modifications! To whoever thinks sleeves are trashy, saying so is in such poor taste!

I agree with all of you who think tattoos and art is beautiful-whether you personally like it/would wear it or not! All about appreciation!

I'm not a fan of girls with sleeves. The tatoos you showed would look good alone, but not in a big jumbled mess as I find most sleeves are.

And natalie: All art is not beautiful. Art is emotion- fear, happiness, lust, anger. Not all art is brautiful, but all art projects emotion. I don't have to appreciate slapdash work, or something I truely don't enjoy. I think that tatoos are fine. Want to get one? Great! Just sometimes the specific tatoo or the tatoo artist's work is not appreciable.

Art as a concept is insanely beautiful! You don't have like the image, but creation is a truly amazing thing.

So totally agree Natalie T (: I absoloutly hate the word trashy it just sounds so disgusting and gross tattoos are in no way trashy its a work of art

I don't think it would look cute, I think it would look cool, edgy or hip. But not cute, not unless the tattoo is of hello kitty eating ice cream.

Deff think about it. Would you want to see a skull 10 years down the road on your arm. I have a black and white sleeve on one arm and getting color sleeve on the other its only been about 3 years since I got the black&white and I'm already thinking how can I make a piece look better or different. Its a big commitment for your body. Make sure you give yourself time to think about the pieces you want to see everyday on you. And tattoos arent meant to be art. People make the mistakes of getting any picture they find tattooable. And its not the case. You want it to age well with your skin through the years.

I love mine, and to be honest if you care what other people think than maybe you should think about it a bit longer.

Think about what your job will be. If you want to be a doctor, or lawyer, or anything like that, don't get a sleeve. A half sleeve, maybe. But some people, especially older folks, won't want someone to work with then if they have a tattoo. Do whatever you want though (: I personally think tattoos are cool though.

I wanna be a make up artist. do you think that would affect it? I don't usually wear shirts with no sleeves anyway but in case I do haha.

Mar 5, 2013

Brittany A.

Megen, I am not a makeup artist but depending on the case I don't think it would. If you work for a makeup counter, probably not, but a lot of businesses that art related are cool about tats. If you do freelancing, you definitely could if you wanted, coming down to whether you thought it was unprofessional or not.

I think they're lovely. I never understood how people think they're trashy unless the quality is terrible then fine. I would say as long as your career won't be affected then go for it! Make sure you love the work the artist has done because it will be such a big piece.
