No heat styling and no coloring hair. If you must do them then use a heat protectant and deep condition treatment. There's deep conditoners but I like to use homemade ones. Here's a few.
1: put hair in high ponytail and put olive oil in the pony part, wrap it in a bun and sleep overnight then wash out in the morning.
2: 1 egg, honey and olive oil in hair, leave in for 45-60 minutes. Wash out with WARM water not hot.
3: buy some coconut oil and hear up until a liquid, put all over hair and you can leave it in all day, itll make your hair soo smooth.
4: buy some deep conditoners if you choose to, some great ones are netrugena, organix and your local beauty store will have some great ones.
Make sure to get a trim every 6-8 weeks or even 4 if your hair is very damaged. And while using a deep conditoner put a shower cap or plastic bag over your head to keep the heat inside. Take bition supplements, I'm not good at taking pills so I went to GNC ( local medicne store) and got gummies that are bition.

I agree with everyone's advice. When my hair is dry, I use Johnson&Johnson Baby Shampoo. It's easy on the hair and leaves the natural oils in. And its cheap ;)
