bb cream, REAL bb cream, has skincare benefits. it primes your skin, as well as has ingredients for aging/wrinkles/etc. drugstore "bb creams" are not true bb creams. they're more like tinted moisturizers. which is fine if that's all you want, but know that that's all it is. a true bb cream primes your face for your makeup and actually does all the things a bb cream is supposed to do.

BB creams are generally used to replace four steps to just one. For example, MAC recently released a BB cream in both liquid & "cream" versions. The point of it is to moisturize, prime, cover & give some variation of an SPF as well. If you're looking for a full coverage foundation, BB creams are not the way to go, although they are amazing - they have a very sheer coverage. If you're looking for more try pairing it with a powder of some sort all over. Cheers! xx

BB cream is basically for everything. It helps even out your skin tone, moisturizes, covers redness, and even has SPF. I like to use this in the winter as a tinted moisturizer. I found the best one to be the maybeline dream fresh BB cream

I've used several BB creams over the last few years and they can work miracles. I have oily acne-prone skin that's also aging, and Skin79's hot pink gives great coverage without drying or looking cakey. It also lightens dark spots. Get the stuff from Korea, not the stuff in the US.
My other favorite is Dr Jart Platinum. Slightly less coverage, but beautiful finish.
I don't use foundation at all anymore. Don't need it with those BB creams.

Well I wouldn't say dumb, just uninformed. If someone has no idea what it is and all they see is adverts for the American ones, they'd be led to believe that that's all that bb creams are. If the Maybelline one or whatever works for someone then it works. It just isn't the same product as a true bb cream.

I really like the Smashbox BB Cream it might be expensive but it works so well it feels lightweight and I LOVE IT!
