Depends on what kind of job it is. If its a small job just to have while youre in school and its not your permanent job/career then I would walk out. I dont think burgandy hair is a big deal, I can maybe see if your hair was like bright blue or something like that. But for red, thats ridiculous. Would they fire someone who's a natural ginger? Dont think so. I find it silly.

I work as a caregiver. Nobody's ever complained ? But my boss (not the person i care for) said If I wanted to work for her I needed to re dye my hair . It's not obnoxious burgandy? It's not like I have twenty facial piercings ? I'm just really upset that I only have these two options

Technically if you're not in a union your boss can fire you for any reason at all, I would consider how much you need your job, if you do indeed need your job quite a bit then I would just dye it back no matter how wrong your employer is

If you can quit then do. Life is too short to let people bully you for stupid reasons. Your hair colour doesn't affect your ability to do a job.

Is there anyone you could talk to who may be higher up in management? Going over someone's head usually isn't a good thing to do but in this case it may be a good idea to see if you could just talk to someone else and see if there are actually any rules in place stating you can't have "unnaturally colored" hair. If there's nothing stated in any policy or handbook then they don't really have the right to tell you what you can do with your hair. And maybe ask your current supervisor to show you where it states that employees can't have unnatural hair before you talk to anyone above them. If they can't show you anything that states that I would definitely want to talk with someone else.
And then I guess if it comes down to it and nothing can be done about it decide how much the job means to you. If you need it dye it back. It sucks but some people are real a-holes unfortunately

When I was in your situation I bought a super cute black wig to wear in front of sir nags-a-lot and sported my cobalt blue locks on my own time...I actually had a lot of fun with my conformity wig

Yoy shouldve checked with your job before you did anything. My aunt worked as a caregiver and she had to wear no attention grabbing clothes, jewelry or dye her hair any 'unnatural' colors. Id just quit if I were you. Never get fired.

I Didnt think it'd be a big deal since its not obnoxious, it's literally burgundy with brown in it. I love it. She's only giving me a day to dye it ! And since they're extensions I paid 220 dollars for it all . Not letting that go to waste .
