Beauty Product Reviews
Absolutely Wonderful
I'll be honest and note that I prefer Sonia G's eyeshadow brushes more than her face brushes. However, I cannot help myself when it comes to her creations. She puts such thoughtful care into her releases, I end up buying anything she releases, including face brushes. These are her best face brushes to date. The ALP1 is the perfect overall powder brush, both setting and finishing, as well as blending. Absolutely soft. The large buffer I've always wanted from Sonia. The ALP2 is the brush I crave. I've used it every day since it arrived. I love angled brushes, and she sure delivers here. Bronzer, blush, blending, so many possibilities. It's like a fluffy ball you pounce on your face, just for fun. The APL3 is a flat brush that I wasn't initially impressed by, but it is uniquely soft and perfect for setting the under eye, blush and even highlighter. So soft. And finally, the ALP4 is the baby version of the ALP2. Perfect for high pigment blushes and for highlighting. All are divinely soft. And yes, I have 2 sets. I couldn't resist. Absolutely stunning, unique and worth every penny.
Didn't Think I'd Like These
I'm a collector. I thought I'd buy these, not like them, and stick them in a drawer. I was so wrong. The larger brush is as close to squirrel as I've ever felt with this size of brush. Very plush feeling. I use it for setting, bronzer and blending my face products. I thought the smallest brush would be useless. Boy, I was mistaken. It precisely places blush right where I want it. No floppy brush, hoping placement is okay. Nope. This smaller brush places blush exactly where I want it. I like to ombre blush, to use back and front blush. I just love blush. This is THAT blush brush. It can do exactly what you want it to do. And then I use the larger brush to blend it all. This set has been a joy to use. I cannot wait what Sonia G releases next. I'll buy it!
Practically Perfect
These 4 brushes are all you need to complete an eye look. The smallest pencil brush is one I've been looking for a long time. It is the thicker, rounder pencil brush, and it's perfect. The crease brush is basically a larger version of the smaller pencil brush, which allows you to precisely place where you want pigment to go. The flat lay down brush is so excellent at laying down any type of shade. The largest brush is a joy to use to finish my look and blend everything together. I also use it for brow bone highlight. These are also incredibly soft. I adore these 4 beauties. The handles are of course elegant and beautiful. Highly recommend.
Love These!
My brushes arrived packaged well, and in good order. The bristles are lovely as are the handles. I would consider the blush/highlight brush to be a "most everything brush" because it can handle setting, blush, highlighter and a quick touch up during the day. The foundation/bronzer brush is a light airy, not dense brush that is very suitable for powder foundation, bronzer, and quick touch ups as well. The crease brush is fantastic, especially if you're going for a quick matte look with different matte shades. Just a lovely brush. The eyeliner brush can handle both eyeliner and brow products. And all of these brushes wash well and hold their shape. And the handles! I love the winter scene with the gold accents. Lovely to look at as well as to hold.
Love Them
These brushes are really beautiful. But beyond that, they are very functional. I really wish Sonia G would release more squirrel brushes. My eyes are very sensitive, and squirrel works well for me. Three of these brushes are for very specific/detail work. The eye liner brush is perfection. I want 5. The smudger brush is so soft and wonderful. The mini builder is now my favorite builder from Sonia. It washes well and retains it's original shape. The largest brush is extremely dense and works well to blend any eye look. The only thing missing is a crease brush. Overall, such a lovely set.
Beautiful But Firm
I buy Fude because I love to collect it, and I love brushes that are functional. These 2 brushes (I have both) are certainly beautiful. But I struggle to find a way to make them functional. They're both very soft but stiff because of the density of each brush. And I understand that Koyudo is providing so many high quality bristles so that we get our money's worth out of each brush. I can apply blush with them, but can't do much blending. I can apply finishing powder in a tapping motion, but no buffing. Koyudo did release a 100% grey squirrel brush of this caliber, and I missed out on buying it. This will probably be my only experience with purchasing such high quality brushes, and I'm grateful to have them. But I wish they had more functionality.
Thank You, Wayne!
These are really great, soft, brushes. Very beautiful Saikoho. Each one is super soft. The angled cheek brush is divine. I love the largest eyeshadow brush, the E1, so much I've already purchased more, along with any pencil brushes left in stock. If this is "The First Edition" I cannot wait to see "The Second Edition"! Thank you, Wayne, for creating beautiful brushes I'll cherish forever. If I could wish for anything, it'd be a super large, fluffy, powder brush. I like the F3, but dream of something bigger.
Very Soft
This cute brush is very soft, very dense, and with very short hairs. It can be difficult to wash due to the density. This brush is a great stamping brush. I need to try other buffing techniques with it, but so far so good. This is not a typical heart brush. I do wish Koyudo would have just made this a "non heart" brush, with all straight bristles. I can still feel those two "bumps" of the heart design when using it. The handle is beautiful.
