Disappointed

I love Wayne Goss but the contour brush head immediately came apart after using it once or twice. Customer service is amazing. They had me video the brush and immediately sent me out a replacement. The replacement ARRIVED loose. And a couple of times after using it, also came completely apart. I didn’t bother reaching out again. Since then, several other brushes in this set have completely come apart. For the price, I shouldn’t have to be gluing these brushes together myself.

Effective brushes, with an incredible amount of shedding.

First these brushes are beautiful and quite effective. They work with a range of products from creams, powders, liquids and are quite good at smooth pick up and placement. That said, these brushes shed like crazy. I tried washing them and then they weren’t as soft. I have even bought replacements for my favorites (f1, f2) and they shed right out of the package. At this point the amount of shedding makes them unusable. I’m not sure if I got a bad batch or what but unfortunately, they will gather dust.

Great Set

I have loved all of the face brushes in this set, but the standout for me is the F1. It was an immediate favorite and is unique to my collection. I have also been loving the E1 for one and done looks. If I had to do this over I would probably purchase just the face set and the E1. I dont want to lower my rating because the other eye brushes are great quality and are just going to be a learning curve for me personally.

Love at first swipe!

Still playing with these, so I haven’t used them all yet. But as one of the proud possessors of mature skin, I love the shapes that make these so versatile for hooded eyes. The bristles are so soft & gentle on my skin. Picks up just the right amount & wafts product for a flattering look. Wayne gave us quality natural hair brushes at a reasonable price given the artistry involved that make it easy to look good at any age. And with proper care, these will last for ages. Thank you, Wayne!

Incredibly soft BUT…
Photo of product included with review by Hanna F.

I bought the full First Edition set and you can see right away they are premium luxury quality brushes. So so soft and very beautiful as you would expect at the price point of $ 449 USD that’s $750 Australian dollars.

The only let down and it’s a big one for me is, after paying this amount of money, you would expect the brushes to come in some kind of luxury packaging, or a case or a bag… something. Instead they’re in individual plastic sleeves rolled up in tissue paper. For $750 AUD this really sucks that not even a WG box was provided.

This doesn’t seem right at all.

Exquisite

I was so worried Wayne was quietly discontinuing his brush and makeup lines when most were not just out of stock but completely removed from the site during the gift card event. Relief when he posted his announcement a week or two later. Since I pre-ordered the collection, I got them quickly. There is no other way to describe these brushes but "exquisite." The whisper light, soft feel might even softer than the 7 WG squirrel brushes in my collection. What really sets this collection apart from every other natural fiber brush in my fude collection are the shapes, while some are familiar, there are slight changes that make all the difference in the way they perform. All of the brushes (except one detailed below) are so soft and apply and blend beautifully. I'll discuss the few stand outs:

The feel and performance is especially notable with F4, E2 and E3. The sides of the 2 eye brushes start with short outer hairs and sharply layer upward/inward to the perfectly pointed tip. This means they blend as you lay down product, but so very lightly, so you have good coverage and an even, gradual blend from crease towards the brow. This works really well on my hooded deep set eyes. I usually have trouble with getting even transition shade above the crease. I didn't expect it, but E3 solved this problem for me. F4 is similarly layered on the sides, only the top is perfectly flat. This brush will give you full coverage with less product (liquid, cream or powder) and precise placement with self blended edges because of the layered sides. A wonderful cream contour/bronzer brush. I will be getting another F4 so I can use for foundation and bronzer.

The only brush I am not yet in love with is the teeny tiny liner, E6. This brush is unique because it is firmer than similarly shaped brushes (like rephr 29) - this was an advantage I looked forward to. However I find this brush is quite scratchy along the sensitive lash line. I even feel a poking sensation when pressing/stamping. I'm going to give it some more time - perhaps because it gets it's firmness from being so densely packed, it just needs some time to break in. There is no special pricing for the full set, so if you have sensitive eyes, you can buy all but E6 individually.

I also love the flat black ferrules and glossy handles. They are lightweight but still feel solid on hand. I also love the new WG logo. All on all, thrilled with this new brush collection - and the pricing is extremely attractive considering the quality and quantity in this full collection. You won't feel guilty about indulging yourself with this brush set. You deserve it!

Thank You, Wayne!

These are really great, soft, brushes. Very beautiful Saikoho. Each one is super soft. The angled cheek brush is divine. I love the largest eyeshadow brush, the E1, so much I've already purchased more, along with any pencil brushes left in stock. If this is "The First Edition" I cannot wait to see "The Second Edition"! Thank you, Wayne, for creating beautiful brushes I'll cherish forever. If I could wish for anything, it'd be a super large, fluffy, powder brush. I like the F3, but dream of something bigger.

FINALLY!!!!

I love Wayne Goss ♡ I have been wanting & waiting for these brushes for years!!! They were definitely worth the wait for sure!!! So luxurious, so soft and the way they apply my makeup...OMG! Although I have to say that for the price I was disappointed that it didn't come in a nice package, box, or nice wrapping. All 11 brushes were placed in black tissue paper and put in the cardboard box. That is my only complaint. Other than that I'm so happy with this purchase ;0)
