Summer Perfected

Absolutely love at first blush. Literally. The highlighter is a beautiful shimmer, wet-looking, but so easy to work with. Easy to build up, but you can absolutely still use it without worrying that you'll be seen from orbit! The blush is //very// pigmented and incredibly creamy. On my medium/tan skin the coral really pops. It gives precisely, I think, the effect Tom Ford is trying to elicit. That slightly red, slightly sunburned summer glow. Absolutely healthy looking, without a lot of the terrible orange that most corals seem to pull on me. Both sides were easy to blend out on my skin, but YMMV, as I don't wear foundation, so I don't know how it might move or affect those of you who do.

Absolutely my HG lip brush

Let me begin by saying, I have never been a fan of lip brushes. I have tried so many brands and invariably, they're too soft and the length of the bristles is too long. Maybe I'm just all thumbs, but I have never been able to get crisp lines very easily. I had previously picked up the Eye Set and fell head over heels in love with them. When I was picking up a few OOC lip tars, I thought, well, why not see if Wayne has a brush that I could try, and I picked the 7. Saying that it has made a world of difference in applying lipsticks (both from the bullet and in liquid form, like the OCCs) would be an understatement. The brush is not harsh at all on the lips. The denseness of the bristles makes it perfect for picking up product, and the short bristles, coupled with their density makes for absolutely perfect, crisp lines. I loved it so much, that I picked up a second to keep in reserve. Definitely worth the investment.

These lips thank you!

As a woman of a certain age...okay, I'm 40, I'm finally starting to notice tiny little lines around my mouth. My lip tars and liquid lipsticks //really// notice them. So I've been on the hunt for a clear liner to prevent feathering. It's been a journey, since I have tended to find that most clear liners are just so soft/brittle that I end up losing more product than I get around my lips. Not so with this one. Not only does it glide on like a dream, it really sets well. When you first apply it it does feel slightly sticky, but that quickly goes away. And it prevents feathering like a dream.

Gorgeous Color...with a caveat...

Now, I love a good Too Faced melted. Melted Velvet makes me happy just thinking about it. So when I finally saw that the other red shade I wanted was available I just had to pick it up! So...the pros. Absolutely the same dreamy, creamy formula, super pigmented...and, at least on my lips, not very drying formula. So what was the con? At least with my olive skin and on my lips, which I would say are medium pigmented (more on the dusty rose/mauve side than the pinky/red side), this Ruby, which is described as a blood red, really came off as very much more like a berry shade. Pinkish red, and bright, but not a true red...there is just this hint of...something. Certainly not as "berry" as the Melted Berry, but this was NOT a true red on me. Still, a gorgeous color.

Phenomenal!

As soon as I tried this, all I could say was..."Where have you been all my life?" No, that's not true. That was after I tried this. Let me begin at the beginning. I absolutely love lipstick. Cannot live without it. I can, however, live without the transfer and smearing, so...I started to look into top coats. A found a few paint on ones, but they all seemed to come with a bad taste and/or smell and some burning of the lips. No go. I happened to see a review of this on Youtube and thought I would give it a try after seeing the positive reviews there (and here!).

So...my first impression...really small package. Second...and this is a must...the package says you have to shake the product because it comes in two layers and this is an absolute must. And when I say shake, I mean, I probably had to shake it about a minute, maybe more, to get it to mix well. Now, this might be due to having been in storage until I purchased it, and less shaking will be required subsequently, but why take chances with, when such a small amount of product costs so much? Shake, shake, shake!

I will say that I agree with reviewer Mallory. You only need a //very// small amount to coat your lips, which I patted on, paying close attention to the edges of the lipstick where it touched/met my bare lips.

Now, I will say that I was a little skeptical at first, because I did get some transfer on my finger as I patted this on, and yes, there is a bit of a powdery, very slick, thin oily feeling to your lips as the topcoat sets, but once it does...Absolutely no transfer. None. I tried this with a super creamy bullet and with a Too Faced melted and we are talking absolutely no transfer. And, I also felt as if it left my lips feeling very soft and hydrated. None of that stiff, dry feeling you can sometimes get with long wear lipsticks.

I cannot recommend this enough!

Absolute Perfection

I'd like to begin by saying that I am not a professional MUA, nor have I had many years of intensive experience with all brands of brushes. I'm just a woman of a certain age finally deciding to give makeup a go. That being said, I am absolutely in love with these brushes. They are so velvety soft. They make blending a dream, something I cannot be happier about, as blending is not one of my many skills. They don't tug at my eyelids at all, a definitely plus on my very hooded eyes. I know a few reviewers have noted the shorter brush handles, but I actually find that I cam move and work more easily with the shorter handles. I have a terrible habit of forgetting I have a makeup mirror and just using the eye-shadow palette mirror and these are short enough that I'm not gouging into the eye-shadows accidentally. I could not be more pleased with my purchase, as well as the free and fast shipping.
