Beauty Product Reviews

Perfect for pigmented products

I used this with Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow Highlighter and MACs Breath of Plum. Both I find are extremely pigmented on me and therefore a light hand is needed.

It does pick up a good amount of product and therefore I would not go digging into the pan. I have used the flat side for both highlighting and applying blusher. I flip the brush on its side for a more precise application of contour and bronzer The only face product I will not use this is for powder but if you powder your undereyes only, I think this is perfect for the job too.

This brush is such a pleasure to use. It is soft but has the ability to blend. Definitely not a floppy brush but neither is it densely packed.

I have washed this once and had no shedding. It did not shed over the 3 weeks I was using this.

5 Stars for performance but what is the lifespan of the brush?

I will go with the downside first. I purchased this end of 2019 but have only used perhaps for 3 months altogether (I rotate my brushes). It used to shed perhaps once per use but during the most recent rotation, I notice it is shedding a lot more. Shedding does not bother me because I accept it is part of it. However, to have shedding everyday and at least 2 strands, makes me really nervous. I saw Sonia's post about not tapping the brush and so I keep to her instructions. Perhaps I really need to baby this but this is a lot of work when I want to apply my makeup and get to work on time...

The performance of this brush is without a doubt excellent. It is the only brush that works well with Chanel Metal Peach Illuminating Powder and makes La Prairie Skin Caviar Loose Powder look sheer and natural.

I am reluctant to give this brush anything less than a 4 because I will repurchase this again. I do hope it will last at least 3 years?

The green I have been looking for!

I love using gel pot liners because I can change the brush to get the effect I want.

Colour - Beautiful green that does not lean blue, black nor yellow. It is bright enough to be noticeable but not neon. There is none of those sparkle glitter nonsense. It is a flat matte.

Application - I find that shorter brushes can make the application easier. The flat ferrule angled and smudge brushes are easiest to use. I see some feedback about patchy application. I think it is how the brush is loaded with product. If your brush does not have an even amount of product, this will go on patchy. So take your time to load the brush. I have never used an eyeliner that is a one-swipe liner other than pencil ones but they give a different finish and I stay away from them.

Wear - This is the only liner I can use in my waterline without smudging. I set my eyes with loose powder if I do not already have eyeshadow on. Almost all liners smudge on me even if use eye primer and I set my eyes with loose powder. They always transfer and run, which is due to the shape of my eyes. However, this stays until I remove it with oil cleanser.

Should have bought more during the 30% Summer Sale. Perhaps Beautylish can run and Autumn sale :)?

It is not as white as on the photo

No. 14 has a little more pink that the photo. I am a couple of shades deeper than the light toned model but this colour did not make me look too dead nor did it make my teeth look yellow. For reference, Inglot Beautifier 102 and 104 are better matches for me. Perfect for when I want a smoky eyes and pale lips look. If you own Hourglass I Wish, this is a tad cooler but similar depth of colour.

Application is easy and it comes with its own sharpener. It glides on even on some dry patches without looking too obvious but of course it is best to not have dry patches. Matte but still moisturising enough for me to not reach for a lip balm. Colour is buildable.

It stayed on until I ate/ drank something and wiped my mouth.

Not a cream

I really am not a fan of this at all. I was SO excited to use it and I think that has also led to greater disappointment.

The one star is for the scent of the product but I suspect if this is left around too long, it will turn rancid given the jar packaging.

I used this as a makeup remover and it did not remove my mascara. Product takes a while to remove even with a warm face cloth. I am quite sure this has also led to breakouts in my chin where I never had issues even as a teenager. On top of that, I do not have sensitive skin.

At room temperature, this product is a hard. I had to use my mini spatula to scrape it.

I used it on my hair to finish it up just so it is not a waste of money.

Product is fine but

The scent has taken me by surprise.

I usually use argan oil for my hair and on my face. So, I saw this I thought why not since this is less than half of the price I am paying for Moreish. Unfortunately, this smells like salami. I don't find the smell offensive but safe to say I will not be re-purchasing this.

The stars are for the fact that it is a good moisturiser for feet and legs.

Why is this not getting more attention?

I have to say that he change in one of the reviewers is amazing!

According to TO the active ingredient is to help with reducing the looks of spots and hyper-pigmentation.

I bought this and finished a bottle. I noticed there was a subtle glow in my skin but was not too sure if this product is the reason. My sister, whom I have convinced she needs this, has also used up a bottle herself. She caught up with some friends and they asked what has she been up to because she is glowing,

The serum is very lightweight, almost like water and it absorbs into the skin easily. Again, no scent detected.

I know what all my cousins are getting for Christmas this year!

Feels very moisturising

According to The Ordinary Vitamin C is and effective antioxidant, brightens the skin tone and reduces signs of ageing.

I have only used 1 tube with a whole lot of other Vitamin C products from TO. I apply this every morning but I always use SPF even on days when I am not out. I can't say for sure this has delivered what it is meant to. However, it is a very easily absorbed product that makes my skin feel moisturised without feeling greasy over Summer. I did not get any uncomfortable feeling in my hands (by this I mean a very strange feeling of sweaty fingers over chalkboard) and the product does not smell of anything.

This is on my list to repurchase.
