Great for my scalp!

This review is on both the shampoo and conditioner. I originally purchased this shampoo and conditioner after using henna dye in my hair because I wanted the color to last for as long as possible in my hair, and sulfate-free shampoo is supposed to be more gentle so that the color does not fade as fast. I wish I could say that it did that, but I’m not 100% sure. It probably did last a little bit longer than it would have using regular shampoo and conditioner. Henna dye already doesn’t last very long, so I will have to try using regular dye on my hair at some point to see if it has an effect on my color.

I actually love this shampoo and conditioner for a completely unrelated (and unexpected) reason! I have noticed that since I’ve started using it, my scalp has become drastically less flaky/dry and feels much more healthy. This was not a goal at all when I started using it, but I started noticing that I didn’t have to reach for the Head and Shoulders shampoo as much and that my scalp wasn’t itchy and flaking after not washing my hair for a couple days. I don’t know what is in (or what is not in) these products that affected my scalp in such a positive way, but I will definitely continue using L’Oreal EverPure regardless of if my hair is colored. The smell of the Rosemary Mint is really nice as well…very invigorating and fresh!

Love these balms!

These balms go on extremely smooth and the moisture lasts a fairly long time compared to some other balms I have. I also think its great that it has such a high level of SPF! Most balms I’ve seen only have SPF 15, and the ones that have SPF 20+ feel very heavy and medicinal. My favorite color would have to be “Pink Punch”, which is an interesting choice for me because its HOT pink and I’m usually against bright lip colors. However, the color is subtle enough that it gives the perfect pop of pink to your lips without overdoing it. I also really loved “Cherry Me”, which is a bright red in the tube but comes out as more of a rose color. Very pretty, but unfortunately it tastes like Cherry flavored Tylenol =/ "Peach Kiss" is a barely-there nude color with a hint of shimmer, which I use the most. And "Quench" is clear and, in my opinion, tastes exactly like Fruity Pebbles! =p

All in all, I am absolutely loving these balms! I’m a huge fan of tinted lip balms in general, because I’m not great with lip color and I feel like tinted balms are a great way to get a subtle hint of color plus moisture and SPF. Even better, these balms retail for around $3.99, so super cheap too!

Strong scent but great hand cream!

I picked up the travel size “Hand Food” hand cream to try out, because I’m a wee bit obsessed with hand creams and always have to have one by me at all times! lol. The packaging is super pink and adorable (as is all Soap & Glory packaging). It contains shea butter, macadamia, and marshmallow. A lot of reviews of this cream said it was amazing at moisturizing but that the floral scent was overpowering. I agree somewhat…the scent of this cream is pretty strong (and floral), but I have used stronger scented hand creams before from Bath & Body Works. If you don’t like floral scents (or strong scents for that matter) then you may want to skip this product I personally love the scent, though I wish it were a tad bit toned down.

The cream itself is lovely! Super moisturizing, and long lasting as well. I was a little concerned when I first applied it because it seemed thinner than I thought it would be, so I figured it wouldn’t be very moisturizing. I was wrong, though! This cream keeps my hands moisturized for a while, and it has a silky texture once it has absorbed into the skin, which makes it much less greasy compared to thicker creams.

Officially a PurMinerals convert!

I have been a BareMinerals girl for probably 3 or 4 years now. I’ve heard from friends that they prefer the PurMinerals foundation to the BareMinerals (as far as coverage and not breaking them out), so I’ve always wanted to try it to see if I would like it better. I’m glad I chose the Golden Medium shade because it is perfect for my skin tone, which has yellow undertones.

The directions say to “dip” your brush into the foundation and draw circles in the lid of the compact. Well…that didn’t work. At all. Like no product got onto my brush, so I’m not sure why that would be an effective method of application. Maybe its because I don’t have the special chisel brush that is supposed to be used with the foundation? I’m not sure, but what I end up doing is swirling my brush about 2-3 times into the foundation. That is the only way that it will be able to pick up a decent amount of foundation to cover my face. I don’t expect a lot of coverage with mineral foundations…after all, they’re supposed to be light. This foundation really surprised me though! It gives excellent coverage for a mineral foundation (I would say about medium coverage if you use the right amount of product). My skin looked like porcelain when I was done applying! Any redness on my face had been covered and my skin looked smooth and even. I find that it has a bit more of a matte finish than Bare Minerals. Also, my foundation lasted me well through the day as well, even without primer!

The one downside to this foundation is more-so based on the foundation’s claims rather than the product. They claim that it is 4-in-1 (concealer, foundation, sunscreen, and powder). I don’t really think it does all of those things. I still use concealer, and I still apply a moisturizer with sunscreen. The powder aspect might be true, although I still use a little powder over it. The one thing that this foundation is good for is just that…as a foundation! And it works very well as one. Needless to say, I love this foundation and I am definitely a PurMinerals convert!

Love the gloss but not the applicator

The color of this gloss is very pretty…its a bright pink but goes on fairly sheer (which I prefer). It also tastes really good (like cherry I think). I’m not a huge fan of the applicator, though. I’ve actually never been able to master the brush applicators where you have to click to get the product through. Maybe I’m just not doing it right, but it seems like I either get too much product or not enough (usually the latter). A lot of people seem to prefer the brush to the doe foot applicator…so maybe I’m just weird lol! Overall, I really like the actual gloss though…just takes some time to apply it. =p

Oasis

I've always wanted to try a Sinful Colors polish...I kept seeing them in the drugstore and they're so inexpensive! I received one of the polishes in a giveaway, and the color was "Oasis" which is a very bright neon pink with a hint of duochrome (not sure why the swatch isn't listed on Beautylish). Since its too bright for my nails (at least in my office environment, otherwise I'd totally rock it), I decided to use it on my toes. It applied very evenly and I was super impressed at the color...I didn't need a million coats of it for the color to be exactly how it was in the bottle. I actually would have been fine with one coat, but I did two. Very pigmented polish! I will definitely keep an eye out for more Sinful Colors polishes.

Helps get rid of flakes

I have really flaky skin around my nose and under my mouth, and exfoliators are supposed to help with that (which is what this essentially is since it contains glycolic acid, salicylic acid and phytic acid). And it really did help! My flakes have drastically gone down overnight since I used it. I’ve also been using philosophy’s “the afterglow” for this purpose (I’ll do a full review later), and I think I like that a little better since its a liquid and not a gel. This gel is definitely very cooling, though, and it will be perfect for travel!

Lovely scent

While I usually use Neutrogena wipes, I decided to give these a try when I received a sample of them from Target. They removed all my makeup (including mascara), so I guess I don't share the same experience with them as the previous reviewers. My makeup does tend to be on the light side, though. They also have a very calming scent, which I love. They are very soapy, but as far as I can tell I haven't broken out from them (and I didn't rinse afterward). These are okay, but I probably wouldn't purchase the full size of these as I think my Neutrogena wipes are better.

Yummy smell!

I received this product in my Birchbox and I’ve used it in my hair a couple times so far. It smells amazing…a very sweet vanilla scent. I’ve been keeping my hair curly the past week, so I can’t say how it does for straight hair. My hair seems a tiny bit less frizzy, but nothing really drastic that any other hair oil wouldn’t be able to provide. I don’t think I would pay the full price for this product (if it were ever offered for a steep discount, I might though!)

Nice, but wish it weren't as thin

I received a sample of this product in my most recent Birchbox! I was a little skeptical about this primer because it came in the “bronze” shade, and I prefer clear. However, it blended well with my skin tone and didn’t look unnatural at all. The formula (in comparison with other primers I’ve used) is a little thin. I would have preferred it to be a little thicker, as I find those formulas feel smoother on my skin. Still a pretty good product though!
