Actually it's not cosmetics, it's mostly hair. You learn about roller sets, haircuts, hair color, things like that and you do learn a bit about makeup but not very much. You also will learn some about being an esthetician which is like facials and peels and that sort of thing. The only other field you learn about is being a nail technician which involves manicures, pedicures, and acrylics. Go in expecting to do A LOT of hair, there were a lot of girls in my class who were expecting to do makeup but that is not the case. If you want to do makeup then definitely go after a beauty school, otherwise if you are interested in hair then get ready to learn because from here on out you will learn just about all there is about hair.
