Black Diamond

Here's some fierce and glitzy lip art fit for Gaga or at least would elicit a shriek or two from the general public. I love dark lip looks and wanted to break out the chunky rhinestones and OCC Tarred. The contrast between Tarred and Sugarpill's Tiara works so well to bring dimension to the design.

Thanks for noticing, and say thanks to my orthodontist. ;-D I guess my adult braces were totally worth it cause my bottom teeth used to be pretty craggily. ;-p I never thought I'd be taking pics of my mouth for lip art years ago, so I'm actually really glad I got them fixed. I'm glad you like my stuff.

I just recently found a black lipstick in the Fergie collection from Wet & Wild that has really good coverage. You should try it. I fell in love with it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out on eBay cause I'm overseas. I'm thinking of trying Lime Crime's Styletto too.

I love the effect the silver gives to the lips. What color was it layered over? I'm not sure if it's black, or if it's a dark, dark plumy red. Either way, it's still gorgeous!

It's black but was hard to get it totally opaque and a bit of my natural lip colour is showing through so that's was makes it look a little plummy in areas. I used OCC Lip Tar in Tarred over Maybelline gel eyeliner. I need a better black lipstick cause Tarred doesn't totally cover easily.

Ah, I see. Well, it's a STUNNING photo! That's one thing I'm not good at- the photos. I'm hoping that's one thing I'll get better at in order to showcase my work better. And hopefully soon I'll start building a legit portfolio. ;) Any tips regarding the photography? I have a Kodak easyshare Z19. :) I also have an ipod, haha

Thanks, I work hard on getting good photos. It took me a while to get photos that looked decent. You definitely need decent light, whether it be natural light or a light kit. Until recently what I would do is actually kneel up on my vanity bench in the bathroom and stick my face near the fluorescent light. So very ghetto but not even any sort of rig. I recently bought a Glamcor Elite light rig and am trying to learn the best way to use that. It definitely removes the bruises on my knees from kneeling on a marble bench top and my neck isn't so sore from craning up to the light, so that's great. ;-P So yeah, as far as photos I use my back camera on my iPhone 4S and face the screen to a mirror so I can see if I'm in frame. I seriously just focus the camera and shoot. I take a lot of photos and go through them later to find the best one. Also play around with the best angle for you and take different ones so you can decide what looks the most flattering/shows off the makeup the best. I think that below $1000, the iPhone has the best camera and I like the iPhone 4S camera to the 5 because the lens is thicker on the 4S. So my best tips are lots of light and take lots of photos. And I just use iPhoto on my mac book air to crop and fix the brightness/contrast and that sort of thing. Here's the link for the lights if you want to check it out http://glamcor.com/glamcor-classic-....
