Beauty Product Reviews

THE BEST

I have oily/ combo , acne prone, sensitive skin and this oil is an absolute must have for me. Why I love this oil: -it is light weight yet hydrating: not greasy at all! - has a long shelf life because it is saturated through the process of hydrogenation (note that this is diffferent to squalEne which becomes rancid quickly) - mixes in well with foundation (although this is my opinion, people may a different experience) - anti- bacterial - anti inflammatory and great at soothing skin with eczema, psoriasis, etc. - non-comedogenic - can regulate oil production because of its stable form - since it is found naturally in our skin, it is less likely to irritate our skin - protects skin from radicals that can cause premature aging - can help to lighten scars - colourless - odourless

I apply this through the ends of my hair and use it every night as the last step in my skin care routine- it has been lifesaver since acutane dries out my skin so much. It is even great to use in the bath to help moisturize, since hot water can dry the skin out. Would recommend this oil to everybody, regardless of their age and skintype. Best of all, the price is right

HOLY GRAIL- the only lip balm I use

This is a product I absolutely swear by! I don't know why, but I tend to get some seriously major insect bites on my body and just applying a little bit of this helps to calm my skin down. It is also really great at intensely moisturizing joints without being sticky- just be sure to not use too much! ( I'd recommend taking a small amount and warming it up in your fingertips to help thin it out a little bit). Lastly, it works so well on chapped lips; my lips have been worse lately because I'm on acutane, so having this has helped so much. Use quite a generous amount so that it really masks the lips and softens the skin. My mom loves this stuff too and she has sensitive skin, just like me.

Not for me

There are pros and cons to using this foundation, hence why I gave this 3 stars.

PROS: - in terms of coverage, this foundation is so good, especially if you want to wear it everyday. - it is quite pigmented without feeling heavy on the skin. -buildable - the Y shades do run quite yellow and for me, it's a good thing. This is still the only foundation I have found that is a PERFECT match for me. Even though I no longer use this, I keep it on hand so that I can compare its colour to other foundations. -thin and emollient which means you have time to work with it.

CONS: -if you have combo/oily skin, you will definitely need to touch up during the day. You may even need to bake if you don't usually do. -I don't have sensitive skin but I got breakouts on my cheeks and milia on my chin (which is a really weird place to get milia, especially since I don't usually get them). I think this is down to the fact that this product has coconut alkanes (an ingredient derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil) and since coconut oil is comedogenic, it blocked up my skin. This also happened to my friend (she has combo skin just like me). - I wouldn't recommend it to people with sensitive or acne- prone skin. -not transferproof -takes a while to dry down to a skin-like finish.

This product also applies better with a buffing brush. A sponge is good if you want a lighter coverage.
