Not for me

There are pros and cons to using this foundation, hence why I gave this 3 stars.

PROS: - in terms of coverage, this foundation is so good, especially if you want to wear it everyday. - it is quite pigmented without feeling heavy on the skin. -buildable - the Y shades do run quite yellow and for me, it's a good thing. This is still the only foundation I have found that is a PERFECT match for me. Even though I no longer use this, I keep it on hand so that I can compare its colour to other foundations. -thin and emollient which means you have time to work with it.

CONS: -if you have combo/oily skin, you will definitely need to touch up during the day. You may even need to bake if you don't usually do. -I don't have sensitive skin but I got breakouts on my cheeks and milia on my chin (which is a really weird place to get milia, especially since I don't usually get them). I think this is down to the fact that this product has coconut alkanes (an ingredient derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil) and since coconut oil is comedogenic, it blocked up my skin. This also happened to my friend (she has combo skin just like me). - I wouldn't recommend it to people with sensitive or acne- prone skin. -not transferproof -takes a while to dry down to a skin-like finish.

This product also applies better with a buffing brush. A sponge is good if you want a lighter coverage.

My new everyday go-to foundation

I have pretty dry and sensitive skin so most foundation just creases very easily. but this serum foundation is just perfect. I apply this with a damp sponge and it spreads very beautifully with a medium coverage. Not that I need a very full coverage but for school that's pretty much all you need. the foundation gives a very natural slowly finish, almost like you're not applying foundation at all.

Nope

0 coverage and super, super watery. 1.2p is way too yellow. If you want a tinted facial treatment this might work for you...

Perfect for that no-makeup look

I am not much of a foundation wearer, I don't like the feel or look for to much coverage, so I tend to stay with bb or cc creams but this foundation caught my attention. A serum foundation sounded just up my alley and since I love so much from the ordinary I decided to give it a go! And I was not let down. This foundation gives me a beautiful light coverage, just enough to smooth over my skin and give it a even look. The product sinks into the skin quickly and blends out nice and easy. The finish is very natural, but I do prefer to set it with a powder to keep it in place all day.

Too Sheer for me

Feels great on my skin. Very light weight. A little too sheer for me. Better for younger skin with very little flaws.

It's very light weight

I bought this and the primer. The color I bought is lighter than I thought it would be but heading into fall/winter it will be ok I think. The coverage is lighter than I'm used to but it is definitely more natural looking. The primer with the foundation seems to dry my skin out by the end of the day so I'm going to try it without the primer to see if it is the primer or the foundation.

Great for medium coverage and mature skin

I have freckles, laugh lines, dark shadows, age spots, sun damage--the WORKS! Beauty years were in the 80s when we splashed on a LOT of heavy foundation and brushed over with Coty powder. Sadly, as my skin aged, that beauty routine does nothing but add even more years as the powder and heavy foundation settle comfortably into those laugh lines. By the end of the day, I look like an 80 year old horror show! Thankfully Ordinary Foundation has saved me from myself. It wears well, does not settle into lines, and $7???? Seriously? I don't have to be patronized at the Estee Lauder/Clinique counter at the mall either! Thank you Serum Foundation!

Drying out. Geisha look only.

This shade takes all the life out of my face it is way too white. Felt like a clown or a geisha face after applying it. I noticed it dries out the skin completely. I could not see any silver shimmer - it is completely matte flat very fair color. I would like to have more natural look of the real skin, not the mask effect this foundation gives. I have applied it on moisturized face. I tried adding moisturizer to it - still same dry matte look of geisha.

Unexpected

I initially purchased this foundation because I love The Ordinary skincare line. I can’t believe the quality of this product for the price. It goes on smoothly, and doesn’t settle into lines and pores. The coverage is buildable, but don’t expect super high coverage.
