The Ombré Hair Color Trend!
Published Nov 20, 2012

Considering ombré hair? Beautylish's Christina T. wanted a subtle change from her jet-black locks, and asked SF stylist Ernesto Meneses for his two cents on the trend. "Ombré hair color brings life back into your strands without a big commitment—you can go as dramatic or subtle as you want, that's the beauty of the style." For Christina, Ernesto chose to stay within three levels of her natural hue, choosing warming shades to complement her golden complexion.

Ernesto first broke up the coloring process into two steps. He first brushed Avedas Full Spectrum Deep Creme Color for Dark Hair on three-quarters of her hair from root to mid-shaft. 25 minutes later, he rinsed the color out of her hair and washed the ends with a color three shades lighter than her natural shade. "By washing the color into the ends instead of brushing, it gives that gradual and blended effect we want," noted Ernesto. The entire process took less than two hours total, but the most beautiful thing about this bohemian-modern style? No roots.
