Met Costume Institute Gala Makeup: Karolina Kurkova

Karolina Kurkova looks beautifully charming in her Jean Paul Gaultier black and white gown at the 2011 Costume Institue Gala Benefit. Makeup artist Itsuki went for a chic and sophisticated makeup look to match the impressive gown. "I drew a wing as influenced by Gaultier's show.  Also, burgundy lip color was chosen to symbolize mysterious femininity." Keep reading to see how Itsuki created Karolina's look at the Met Gala!

MAKEUP KAROLINA KURKOVA AT THE 2011 MET BALL

"I used Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation as the base.  As we chose to go with a rich, dramatic lip–NARS Lipstick in Volga-the eye make up was more clean, light and sophisticated.  I used taupe and charcoal brown MAC eyeshadows, and a Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow compact. On the the cheeks I applied a bit of Giorgio Armani Sheer Cream Blush, and Guerlain Terracotta blush.  Finally, I finished with Lancome Hypnose Mascara.”
