Beauty Product Reviews

Glittery?

They are both a tad shimmery. I did not see this when ordering from the e.l.f website. Nonetheless, it is still an alright blush/bronzer duo.

The blush is a light pink color that does well when applied to your cheeks. No complaint there really. But if you do have dry skin on your cheeks (like me) I would not recommend this because it does cling to those dry patches.

The bronzer is a bit darker than the photo would make you think. It is mostly suited for darker skintones, but I think if you blend it well enough with a kabuki brush it would work for people a bit lighter. Again like the blush, it does cling to dry patches.

I haven't used the NARS Laguana/Orgasm duo like other people here have, but I will check that out.

Great!

It gave me very good coverage and it wasn't chalky (compared to a previous Drugstore stick concealer that I've bought.. I think it was Wet & Wild?)

I don't apply it directly from the container. I just pat it with my fingertip and then pat it onto my face and blend it in. It's creamy, too! ♥

The only problem I have with it is it does cling to any dry patches, so make sure to moisturize!

Drying and Barely Pigmented

I got this in two colors. Nostalgic and Gypsy. My mother got it in Captivating.

1. Nostalgic: It appeared a light beige color on the website, but is actually a pale pink. Nevertheless, I tried it out on my lips. Very disappointed right there. It was drying, not creamy, and if you rub your lips together it leaves a faded line in the middle.

2. Gypsy: Much better than Nostalgic. It's a darker color; somewhat burgundy. I won't say it's very creamy, but it's also not that drying. But it's definitely not moisturizing. Once again though, if you rub your lips together it leaves a faded line in the middle.

3. Captivating: This is the one my mom received. It was also a pale pink, contrary to the beige we saw on the website. It is actually a little bit worse than Nostalgic. It was VERY drying, definitely not creamy, and left a faded line. My mom's lips were slightly chapped before, but this just worsened them.

So, overall, the only one I would recommend from what WE bought would be Gypsy. But even then it's still not all that great. It's not hydrating as it claims to be and let's not forget that faded line!

Next time I buy e.l.f lipsticks I hope it'll be worth it to spend those two extra bucks to buy Lipstick from the Studio Line.

Dried out!

I bought this with my first e.l.f haul back in July. I am quite disappointed in it! It arrived dried out and barely even showed up! The parts that did show up were an icky gray color; not very attractive at all!

The only reason I gave this 1 1/2 stars is because it is definitely waterproof. Took me forever to get the dang product off!

Fantastic!

It is a great product. Smaller than I expected because of the photo. It glides on smooth and it's also very pigmented. I am also happy it came with an angled brush! But the brush is smaller than I would have expected, also. It's smaller than the regular angled brush by e.l.f (Studio Line; $3).

The only real problem I had was this:

"SMUDGE-PROOF, BUDGE-PROOF and WATER-RESISTENT coverage for all day..." While as it was a great product, it did smudge a tad bit. It also isn't water resistant, nor did it stay on all day. But if you use an eye primer on your waterline (where I usually put this), I'm pretty sure it will stay on! Or if you set it with powder. :)
