But recently celebrities such as Jennifer Hudson, Emma Watson, and Nikki Reed have paired the hot hue with a bold, red statement lip. Although the daring power combo seems like a complete clash, stars of all skin tones have flawlessly pulled off the look. What’s their secret? The A-listers selected orange-based lip shades that complemented the citrine color’s yellow undertones. Then, the rest of their makeup was left simple and nude—no smoky eye, no rainbow palettes!

I love it! I think it is beautiful. It stands out, but in a good way.
Chartreuse is made from a mixture of green and yellow, and green is complimentary to red (think of how beautiful red roses are!) so it doesnt surprise me this trend is catching on the green and red pigments feed off of each other, making each other pop! i would also suggest trying yellow and purple and chartreuse and purple, because the complimentary color to yellow is purple
