SHADE: Shimpagne

I love MAC Shimpagne Mineralize Skinfinish! It's a beige shimmer with subtle gold veining throughout. It's the perfect neutral highlighter because the beige is slightly cool toned, while the gold veining balances out nicely to complement many skintones. Since this shade isn't SO pale and white like 'Lightscapade' is, I recommend this for basically every skintone, it's that awesome. The shimmer content is slightly more than 'Lightscapade' but I'm ok with that; it highlghts the skin beautifully and gives it a sheen without the glitter. I love wearing Shimpagne both on the tops of my cheekbones AND on my eye lids! Paired with an eyeshadow primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion), it gives a dewy “wet” look to my eyes that actually lasts. This shade might be discontinued, but try to find it on other sites, or wait for MAC to re-release it again! It's definitely worth the wait...

SWATCH: Glissade

I wanted to LOVE Glissade. After trying MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade, I was absolutely hooked onto the product. I saw Glissade and thought it would be such a beautiful color on my cheeks. It's a metallic peachy-beige with coral pink veining through it. The texture is definitely rougher than other MSF shades. When swatched, you can definitely see glittery bits in the product. The shade itself looks great on my fair skin and brown hair/eyes. It gives a peachy coral blush. Unfortunately, I'm not in love with the texture on this particular shade. It just looked too shimmery and glittery. If I put it all over my face, I look like a Disco Ball's sister, not a flattering look. I recommend this shade to people who LOVE shimmering skin. It's not the best product for a “natural“ look. Don't discount the MSF products though, just find a different shade that works for you.

SWATCH: Lightscapade

I am just utterly obsessed with this product, however, I was really skeptical at first. In the pan, it looks like a swirly mess of shimmering shades....lavendar, white, green, pink....THIS was supposed to make my skin glow? After applying it on tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, forehead, chin, cupid's lip, and inner eye corners, I was in love, my face had an inner glow to it. There was no apparent shimmer, no vivid shine that screamed “I put shimmer on my cheeks to hide my dull skin!” It melted into my skin naturally and gave it a moonlit glow that got me a lot of compliments. Since then, I wear it at least 4 times a week with some cream blush and I'm good to go! Lightscapade is definitely a paler shade, more appropriate for fair to light skin. There are a ton of other shades of Mineralize Skin Finish for every skin tone, but I would use this particular one on lighter skin tones.

Nice, staple shade

First off, I'm definitely obsessed with the name. Florabundance reminds me of springtime blooms and luscious gardens. This milky peachy pink shade is aptly named! It gives lips a more muted light pink glow. The peach tone of it prevents it from looking like a pale bubblegum barbie look, so it's really flattering on a lot of skintones (I'd say it's probably too pale and cool for darker warmer skintones though, try MAC C-Thru instead). This gloss is perfect for complementing darker, more dramatic eye looks.

MAC Lip Glass is probably one of the stickiest lip gloss on the market. Applied on, it feels very tacky, and my hair definitely catches in it on a windy day. That said, it is also one of the most long-lasting lip glosses on the market as well. This stuff will STAY on your lips unless you take it off, I guess that's the tradeoff....Lip glass comes in a TON of shades so you will definitely find a color that works for you. The vanilla scent is also very subtle and smells great. At $14.50, these are priced well for the amount they have (.17 oz of product). This product is a part of the Back 2 MAC program, where if you recycle 6 empty plastic products back to MAC (Lip glass included), you can trade them in for a at a freestanding store for a free eye shadow, lip gloss, or lipstick (at counters, it's just a lipstick).

Pinky-brown neutral shade

Lust is a pinky-nude-brown shade from MAC. Compared to a lot of these typical colors that have a cool mauvey undertone, Lust has a caramel warm undertone that turns my lips a little too peachy brown for my liking. On warmer skintones, I could see it being a nice glossy staple for every day, but my skin has some cool undertones that don't respond well. I recommend a sticky neutral gloss like Chanel Glossimer in Giggle instead for a more flattering neutral.

Gorgeous shimmering nude

Sinnamon lustre glass is a gorgeous pearlescent tan/nude from MAC with a subtle pink overlay and sheen so it doesn't look too brown toned. It tones down my pigmented lips excellently. I recommend it with black or deep espresso brown smokey eyes.

MAC Lustreglass is different than the original MAC Lip Glass. They are a bit less sticky than lip glass, but they have a pearl 'lustre' finish that separates them from the rest of the shimmering glosses. At $14.50, I believe these are priced well because they will last a really long time. The yummy scent is subtle and not overpowering at all. Luminous shade

Luminary is a unexpectedly great shade. It's a pearlescent sheer and milky white/pink with pink sheen. It's perfect to tone down ultra-pigmented lips, and great to top of lipsticks with! On my neutral-warm coloring, it can look a little “Ice Queen” if I layer too much on, but I love swiping on a sheer layer to tone down lips when I have a dramatic eye. The texture is smooth and makes my lips glow!

Lovely lovely nectar

Love Nectar is one of the most gorgeous lip glosses I've come across. It looks like an sheer apricot base with pink and gold iridescence shot through it. On the lips, it gives such a multi-dimensional glow that I'm obsessed with! I have fair skin with peachy undertones, and brown hair/eyes, so this color works really well for my coloring. I honestly believe that Love Nectar would work on every coloring paired with the right makeup and clothing; it's got a great mix of both peach and pink with gold that is universally flattering. Try this shade out!

Shimmering pink with a hint of rose

Flusterose is a pearlescent pink with a hint of a rose tone. It gives a really sweet and feminine look to the lips, and the pearl texture gives a glow, versus a chunky shimmer that you typically see in many lip glosses. I love wearing this with gray or brown smokey eyes. Try this in the springtime with some pale lavender pastels for the ultimate girly look!

I typically don't wear lip gloss, but this was such a pretty shade I couldn't resist! Flusterose is part of MAC's Lustreglass line. Beautiful color, still is too smudgy for me

Raven is one of the shades of MAC's 'Kohl Power' line. Swatched on my hand, it looks like a reddish-plum-black-brown with iridescent russet red shimmer. It applied a little more muted on the eyes for some reason. I use it on the upper lashline and smudge it up a bit, and line the lower lash line and waterline as well (I pair it with a neutral frosty eye shadow like Stila Kitten, shown in the photo). It gives my eyes a very dramatic look that enhances the amber tones in them. Unfortunately, on my oily eye area, this just smudges too much on me, which I why I won't be repurchasing.
