What's a good contouring brush to get a very subtle contour? I don't want a deep contour and no matter what I do either it's too dark or I can't blend it. I just want a slight contour. What's a good contouring powder and brush to get that look?

You can try a fan brush. They are narrow (good for contouring) and they apply the most lightest application of product of all my brushes.

I agree with marleen... are you using cream or powder to contour? Less is more try building it up little by little

What about a big powder brush? So it's not focus in one spot it just adds color to my face?

I tried a fan brush and it just gave me the harsh line and it was hard to blend. What about a large powder brush that isn't dense

Morghan a big powder brush wouldnt work what you are doing is trying to focus that color in a certain place to achive the contour a powder brush would just add color to the whole cheek making it look dark and muddy.

But whenever I contour I get hard lines and can't blend it and the contour it way to dark even when I use a light hand and barely put any on.

First of all, what contour product are you using? Maybe its too dark for you. Also, there are different sizes & densities of fan brushes and they all have different purposes. I only bought 4 of these brushes. The other 3 were included in kits. For your dilemma, I would recommend the 4th or 5th brush. They have the narrowness that you need, but they are not densely packed so they have a lot of give. Also, try holding the brushes by the end of the brush. Holding it like this will allow lighter application.

Try using a angled brush instead and a lighter contouring product.
