Foundation staying power advice needed.

Please can someone advise me on how to get my foundation to stay put all day? I don't have oily skin and it's not overly dry either. I exfoliate 3 times a week and use moisturiser and primer. Been using urban decay naked skin with the flat head brush as recommended by the sales girl. Help?!😩

Try to use blotting sheets throughout the day If you notice any shine and make sure you are not using too many products which can start to make your foundation slide. And top up powder always helps for me x

And sometimes try a different primer as it has taken me 4 tries to find on that is actually effective as sometimes the ingredients don't mix well, ie. oil and water, and this an cause foundation to slide and come off very easily, so keep trying until you find a primer that works x

After I use primer I go over my face with translucent powder then apply foundation. the powder helps to set it. like Caitlin said, your primer may not be going well with your foundation. or your foundation may not be right for you.

Been changing foundations a bit too. Got double wear from Estée Lauder but I don't like it. It does stay better but it's dull looking and feels bad on my skin.

Tarte's 12hr Amazonian clay foundation and MUFE's Matte Velvet+ have had good staying power for me. Also Tarte's BB primer combo worked well in summer heat, but has only light to med coverage.

Hi Katie...sometimes the reason our foundations don't stay on our faces is because we are mixing different based products with each other. For example, if you use a silicone based primer and then apply a water based foundation, the two will not mix and separate therefore causing "slippage". It is best that you use a silicone based primer with a silicone based foundation and the same goes with water based primers with water based foundations. Also make sure that after cleansing your skin prior to makeup application you are applying your serums and creams etc.in layers with 3-5 mins intervals in between each product giving each product time to absorb properly into the skin. So for example, after you cleanse your skin apply a toner, wait 3-5 mins before applying your serum and then wait 3-5 minutes before your moisturizer, wait another 3-5 mins to apply your primer and so forth. Reason for this is to give your products time to sink into the skin. Always set your makeup with a powder so it doesn't move as well. And a setting spray is a bonus! I like Skindinavia makeup setting sprays. They're awesome. Hope these tips help! :)

I have found it very important to PRESS the setting powder into my skin, not just dust it on. I do that, let it sit for a few mins then buff away any excess with a big fluffy brush.

The UD naked skin is oil free or so I was told at the counter so the other ladies are more than likely right that it's not working well with your primer x

MAC has a Strobe Cream that is hydrating and soothing. A little on the cheeks does wonders for even the dullest of foundations without being glittery.
