Definitely avoid those areas.
exfoliating over breakouts can actually spread the bacteria from them all over your face & make the breakouts even worse >.<

I'd better leave them out because their sensitive as you said and maybe won't heal as fast. But you can also spread the bacterias from the pimples if you rub over them so you will probably break out even more :)

I would avoid exfoliating them. Julia is right. You might actually make your skin angry in the process.

Interesting...so if you exfoliate your whole face it can spread more acne bacteria? What if you just wash your whole face does it apply too? just wondering because I also get breakouts and when I wash my face I rub the cleanser all over you know :/

I agree with Jacqlyn, and after you gently exfoliate your skin use lavender water as a toner ( the lavender destruct bacteria)

Don't forget to hydrate your skin. Use a non oily hydrating creme

Hey, have you heard of the clarisonic? Gentle exfoliation is essential even over breakouts, and the clarisonic has a special brush head made for acne prone skin!
