I find the blotting papers just smear the makeup around making it look streaky and then the powder just makes it look cakey
My skin seriously like creates almost like a paste when makeup is on it

I have super oily skin and work in a restaurant so I have had to get creative with my foundation routine. I use ulta matte primer and then I actually mix some setting powder into my liquid foundation. It helps immensely. The foundation I use is almay clear complexion matte formula. My skin used to look like an oil spill at the end of the day but now it looks completely normal. Oh and make sure your foundation is matte! Hope this helps

I try to use oil free products or matte products, but if I still get oily I keep powder and blotting papers with me.

I usually just wipe it away with my hands (I know it's bad but it works well enough for me) or I use cover FX blotting powder.
