Over the last few months my skin has gotten to it's all time worst.
Massive breakouts everywhere.
My makeup literally looks like paste after 2 hours of applying. Even eyeshadow.
It's gotten to the point where I've cried at work seeing how I look after only a few hours.
Nothing seems to work or cover it up.
I try to go without makeup at home when I can, but I honestly can't stand seeing myself or letting others see me without make, even tho it's not really looking any better with it.
I have to wait at least 3 months to get into any dermatologist, and no treatments I have been using are helping at all.
It's really gotten to the point where I feel depressed and do not want to go out anywhere.
So my question is: what is 1 great tip you can recommend for skin if you've suffered from acne and oily skin

Try looking into your diet. I've heard for a lot of people eliminating gluten or dairy can help. increase your intake of fresh fruits, veggies and lots of water. I always find that when I'm conscious about drinking enough water my oily and acne prone skin calms down and clears up...
I know it's hard. I feel the same way about my enlarged pores and blackheads. you're beautiful and I hope you feel better soon! :)

First of all Jenna I want to say I'm sorry for what you're going thru. I'm currently dealing with acne on my cheeks but thankfully it's gotten a bit better for me with topical treatment. But it's obviously it's different for everybody. All I can really advise you is that you need to make sure you're taking care of what you are putting inside your body. Get rid of all greasy or over processed foods and drink lots of water( lots!!) and I guess keep trying a treatment and give it time because for some you don't see results until 6-8 weeks. Don't give up on it. There's a solution. Be patient even when it seems impossible. And remember you are beautiful!!

@ Avishan V. yeah I have noticed that with water! I definitely need to try to do it more. Do you know of any sites that specially outline this information?

Been there and I'm sorry it is going to take that long to get into a dermatologist. I used accutane and that was the only thing that worked. I was under doctors care during the time I took the medication. As it does have side effects, however none of them were severe and my acne went away for good.

I have never had acne or pimples but I have had breakouts and eczema on my face. If it were me, I wouldn't cover my face with makeup, but instead use noczema which is something me and my mother has used for years. I have sensitive and dry skin. I also have skin allergies which I found out the hard way by having an allergic reaction. I'm sorry for what is happening to you but just buy a jar of noczema and try it. Tell me how you like it. If you have any questions just ask me.

Unfortunately I can't take Accurane or any other hormonal acne remedy because of a blood disorder that causes bloodclots from being on those

Try tea tree oil.. I use all tea tree oil products for my face and it cleared up nicely, also make sure you are cleaning your make up brushes regularly that can also cause bacteria in the brush which causes acne.

I have the same problem as you and now I'm starting to see the light! I went on a no makeup face detox for a straight week and only washed my face morning and night with a gentle cleanser that removes makeup. Nothing else. I swear my skin is just clearing up and I haven't seen it this good in a long time. I know it's hard to go without makeup but just do it for a week and you will see a huuuge difference. I'm also starting to finish my face with a cold splash of water and my pores are completely unnoticeable now and I suffered from huge noticeable pores

Just give your face a complete break for one week of everything you're doing except washing face. Limit as many products as you can when washing face

I had a very very bad cystic acne breakout that was going on for about eight months. I am a nutritionist so I tried to fix it with my diet multiple times but nothing was helping. I knew it had to be a hormonal breakout and I ended up getting back on birth control pills and after 2 months on the breakouts were almost gone, now after four months there are no more breakouts and the scars are fading. I also had to simplify my foundation and skin care routine. I use cetaphil as a wash and I put benzoyl peroxide on the breakout areas (before they cleared up). Also my foundation has salicylic acid. And making sure to take my makeup off every night and wash my face every night and morning has helped me. Hopefully this might help you! I know how badly it sucks :( feel better!

Maybe use paulaschoice.com to check reviews of the products you're using. Sometimes products say they're going to help our skin but it could end up making it worse.
