So I need some tips & tricks lol. I usually shave my legs by using Nair && I am just sick and tired of using it. I can really get only one good use out of every bottle every time I buy the product. So I'm tired if wasting 6-7 dollars every time I want to shave my legs. So I am really considering finally shaving my legs with razors but this will be my first time ever. So does anyone have tips or tricks on this subject && any recommendation on any good razors for first timers??

Get a man's razor and use conditioner as a shaving cream. sit in the bathtub, shave from the ankle up, and after that tap the razor on the bathtub so the hair gets out, do this every time you shave.

When your shaving your front calves they tend to be very smooth so don't go to slow, I did once and the razer sliced across my calf.. embarrassing I know. I had a huge cut there for months!

Buy a men's razor! I can't stress this enough lol. I hate women's razors. I have insanely sensitive skin and men's razors are the only ones that don't make me get bad razor burn. I use the Gillette Fusion. Always use a sharp razor, don't use a dull one or you can get ingrown hairs or bad razor burn. It`s good to soak in the bathtub before shaving because then it looses the hair making it easier to remove. I would also suggestion using a gentle shaving cream such as Aveeno shaving gel. Also, a trick to not getting bad razor burn is to shave with the direction of hair growth. For example, instead of starting from the ankle then going upward, start from the knee and go downward with the direction the hair grows. This prevents irritation, however you won't get as close of a shave and you might be slightly stubbly depending on how fast your hair grows back. After shaving moisturize immediately! I love using pure coconut oil or shea butter.

Exfoliating before you shave will also help get a closer shave and minimize ingrown hairs. I pretty much do what Shauna does (just different products) except I shave against the grain.

Another thing, go slow! there's nothing worse than cut up summer legs. you'll get faster with practice :)

I agree with shauna, but I use venus shaver, and since my skin is really sensitive shaving in the direction of hair growth really helped me, I get way less irritation than when I shave against the grain
