Dying hair at salon vs. at home.

Okay so the thing is I'm young and I really want to dye my hair a burgundy/dark red color..but the price of dying hair at the salon unusually go to is insane. But I suck at following directions so would dying my hair at home be too much of a risk? I'm kinda worried aha.

There's boxes of red dye from Brown to red. I used it and turned my hair a pretty red.

I usually dye my hair at home. There are a lot of good dyes at Sally's beauty supply As long as you follow instructions it isn't too bad
