How much do you tip if mani pedi is $25 and there are 2 different peoe doing it?? Now they have a person that just takes off old toe polish and another paints the fresh one on... Plus a separate one that does your nails... What is the PC thing to do??

I tip $20 for my Mani/pedi...which costs $60 with my no chip. For just my Mani, I tip $10. If 2 peeps take care of me, I split it with $10 each.

I use the restaurant tipping method for hair and nail appts. 20% is more than fair. If someone is just taking off your polish, I really don't think that deserves a tip... She's doing what's expected for her job and there's no exceptional method for doing a task like that. People often feel so pressured and obligated to tip well. To me, tips are earned, not a guarantee. I've rarely not tipped in my life but the person has to go above and beyond to get more than 20%

The prices by me are about the same. $10 for my pedicure and $5-8 for my mani. People remember good tippers and go the extra mile to accommodate.

^agree. I rarely have to wait, they always go the extra mile and really take their time. They never charge me to repair one I break...and they are very attentive to detail. I tip great services over the 20% after I've established a rapport and have seen the quality holds up.
